Hamersley Rovers Soccer Club is based in Carine Open Space off Beach Road in Perth's northern suburbs only 5 minutes from the freeway and Reid highway. We cater for all seniors (18+) and have teams in every category. We are seeking talented players for our Amateur 1st division squad, who narrowly missed promotion and reached the amateur cup semi-finals, we have an excellent coaching set up and great team spirit but always looking for fresh faces to bolster the squad. Pre-season training starts Tuesday 11th January at Carine, 6.30pm For younger players looking to advance we have a Development team in amateur Div 6 (U23's). For people looking for a more relaxed approach we run social teams in the local leagues. We also have a masters team (35+) and a ladies team. Its a well run club with a great social scene especially on during the season on Thursdays and match days. We are a multi-cultural club but majority of members are ex-pats and its a great way to meet new people (and keep fit!). For kids we have an affiliated junior club, see our website for link. There are many clubs that offer pretty decent pathways for good players, most of them are State league premier clubs. Some that have the best youth programs are Stirling Lions, Balcatta SC, Perth SC and Floreat Athena. Easy enough to travel from Rossmoyne but they are north of the river clubs, there are other clubs closer though. Football West also run state teams and development programs. Some local high schools also run football programs, Lynwood SHS and John Curtin College are the two closest to you. Home - Football West - The peak body for football (soccer) in Western Australia has plenty of info Hope that helps Joe

Great to hear, although the junior club and senior club are separate we are still affiliated and share a common history so I'm pleased your lad is enjoying it as so many other juniors do. The ethos there is very different to some other clubs with fun and participation (and low fees!) all important. We've had a good influx of juniors into the senior ranks this year, long may that continue.

I'm actually from Somerleyton (small world huh). Love Perth but love going home too (still call it home after all these years!). We have a youth development amateur team for 18-24 year olds (17's ok though), an amateur first team which is about Anglian Comb standard and our affliated Junior Club has an U18's. So plenty of choices for the lad. We're smack bang in the middle of the Northern Suburbs and only 5 mins from Warwick train station. Heats only a problem early in the season, winter its not too bad. What level/club does your son play.
