  1. Thank you for your very informative reply. I appreciate it. moira
  2. Hi there slightly different question. I have my visa and have been here for nearly 2 years. I have to go back to uk for a time. Maybe a year. Does anyone know if there is a time limit to how long you can be out of Oz once you have the visa. I can't find anything on the immigration website Many thanks moira Ruth
  3. Hi I have been inOz for 15mths now and I plan to go back to UK for a holiday next year. I think I remember someone here saying that when we go back we can inform the pension people and claim the increases to the pension, just for the time we are in UK. I just wondered if anybody knew whether this was correct best wishes Moira
  4. Hi there a friend wants to immigrate on a CPV 143, she has looked on line and says the the cost is £2,185.00, is this right? is the wait still 2 years? And does anybody know the wait for the visa that costs less but takes longer thanks Moira
  5. Hi there I m not sure if I will return to UK to not yet. I came over on a parent visa. Does anyone know if I go back, are there any forms to fill in or anything official to be done. thanks Moira
  6. Hi Lepa The panel doctor I saw sent the results of my medical to DIAC over the Internet. I think it took nearly 2 months before I heard that I had got my visa. I don't think there was a particular reason for them to take that long. It does end finally. best wishes Moira
  7. Hi Cath My experience was that the Medical Centre I went to could not do it without the HAPD number (it was the centre in London). I had submitted a paper application to DIAS I do not know if that makes a difference. Given my time again I would phone around and find a centre that would do it early. Best wishes Moira
  8. Thank you for the replies to my post. I feel reassured. I can't quite believe its happening, feel as if I am going on holiday. B it I will be glad when I get on that plane and the goodbyes are done. People ask if I am excited and I am sure I am but at the moment the goodbyes are uppermost. everyone okraeveryone okra
  9. Hi Well I am finally off next Thursday. I have not had the visa put in my passport and just wondered if anyone knows whether Singapore or Hong Kong (the plane will be stopping at either one of these on the way out) require you to have something visible in your passport. I am taking the grant letter with me. I see there are lots of new names on the forum now - more people of to the good llife best wishes moira
  10. Phoebe I am glad that the problem has been discovered, but 12mths waiting is awfule Your family must be missing you as well. Wishing you well and let us know what you decision is Moira
  11. Phoebe Good to hear your news is good. It must be frustrating not to know what is causing the problem. I hope your future news is good. Does anyone know a good site about paying tax from Australia Best wishes Moira
  12. I think I waited 6-8weeks but I was waiting for the medicals Good Luck Moira Oh I have just heard that they buyer for my flat has withdrawn. I have booked my flight for 21 March. Think I might rent it for a while
  13. So pleased for you Ann. It does make handing over all that money seem like a relief. Best wishes to you Ann Moira
  14. It took me 17mths. I think it would have been quicker but I did not get the medicals done before I had the case officer. But the 17mths from start to finish actually went quickly - as I look back on them. Best wishes for the future Moira
