  1. Hi, would you mind sharing the definite answer? Thanks
  2. Hi, So my Australian wife and I are moving back to Sydney soon. Basically we were going to get my spouse visa offshore, however work dried up in the uk, I was offered a sponsored job in Australia so we decided to come back with me on a 457, then apply onshore for my spouse visa. The thing is that the job is only a 4-5 month contract initially (though the visa is for 4 years, incase they extend my contract). We were under the impression that this wouldn't matter as if my job contract ended, thus cancelling my 457 visa before the spouse visa grant, I would automatically go onto a bridging visa. However I've since read that the bridging visa A would also be cancelled and I would have to apply in person for a Bridging E visa. This apparently is due to there being a difference between having a 457 visa cancelled as opposed to it expiring naturally. Could someone please clear this up for me as to what would happen in my situation? I thought the E visa was more for overstayers etc. we planned our return on the basis that I would easily go on a bridging visa while waiting for a decision as we knew that I had a potentially short contract. If I did need an E visa would it be easy to get in my case, especially given I have a clean immigration record (no overstays etc) We have my application pretty much ready to go so could lodge the 820 within a couple of weeks of arrival, hopefully it would be granted before my contract expired anyways (we have also been married almost 3 years and lived in both Australia and the uk together) Any advice would be greatly appreciated... Thanks, Justin
  3. Thanks everybody for the information, much appreciated. Joanna82, thanks for using your spare time to write that unhelpful response, you're a champ!
  4. Id rather ask direct, there are hundreds of questions on here related to the Form 80, not specifically what I am asking and im super busy, so would rather not have to wade through the forum if at all possible. So if you have any info, please share
  5. Hi All, Im filling out my forms for the Australian spouse visa at the moment and some of the questions seem pretty crazy! Things like where I have worked since leaving school (im 35 and a freelancer/contractor!) I will never remember accurate dates for this. Also 10 year history of where I have lived and been on vacation: I also cant be 100% accurate, ive moved around quite a bit and I dont have full addresses or accurate dates for all of this stuff. Id imagine this comes up alot. Does anyone have any advice? Whats this info used for anyway, are they going to really checkup on all this stuff? Will I get 'marked down' if parts of addresses are missing etc? thanks Justin
  6. Hi, My Australian wife and I are currently living in the UK, but have just started filling out all the forms for Australian spouse visa, as we are planning on coming back to Oz to settle. We have started to build up a list of questions regarding how to fill out certain things on the forms and rather than trawl through forums, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good lawyer or agent that would give us a consultancy over the phone if we paid. We did the same bringing my wife to the UK and it was a great help. If anyone out there has any recommendations, please let me know. thanks, Justin
