  1. Ghastly indeed!! To try and give some encouragement (we certainly needed it during the waiting!!!!!!) 10th October 2011 - Lodged our Application by post. 14th October 2011 - Acknowledgement by post. A year went by without hearing a thing. 4th October 2012 - Received letter with requests from DIAC: 'Preparation for Visa Processing' to undertake Medical; get Police Disclosure; and Complete AoS, and to then RETAIN the documents prepared in readiness for submission to the department. 14th January 2013 - Case Officer. 21st January 2013 - Pre Visa grant letter, request for VAC payment. 04th February 2013 - Visa granted. Since receiving 'Preparation for Visa Processing' letter all correspondence was done by e-mail - with the exception of sending off originals of Police checks and sending off the 2nd immigration payment. We were in Australia at the time of the Case Officer. When we received a letter called the 'Pre Visa Advice' telling us we had to leave the country as visas cannot be granted when you are in Australia. We telephoned our Case Officer and told her our dates of a short trip out of the country to New Zealand, acknowledged these with an e-mail to her. She arranged for our visa to be issued whilst we were away. Our Case Officer was brilliant and assessed our application within weeks not months and everthing went well.
  2. Sorry to hear about all the waiting your having Moira:sad: Sure it will all come together soon for you. We had the same situation has Fran, we were asked months ahead and found emailing all information so much faster and easier. Steph and Sue
  3. ORIGINAL Post by: Summerdaisy; Hi All, great news got my CO today and request for Final VAC all in one go, delighted. Flight booked for 13th January, bit on the expensive side cos of the time of year, but worth it!!! End of this long long journey in sight. Am opening the wine as I type. This smiley is especially for Gilly- a great friend for the last few months.[/quote Well done, we've been watching your progress as we're waiting on our case officer allocation. We've been lucky having spent time waiting in OZ on a tourist visa, enjoy your future . Steph & Sue
  4. We had the same experiance with the DIAC calculator, and thought it was great the way the queue was going down so much. But then it all stopped we enquired with DIAC only to be told the calculator does'nt work for Visa 143 ( why have it on the list then?) The best indication of timescales from start to finish is the tracker as posted by brummiebabies. http://www.chireckles.com/cpv/tracker.php.
  5. Hi No luck at the Travel agents, thought they would have had strict information from customs but they seemed keen to let us buy the ticket and sort the problem out at the airport. So we did'nt of course and will now look to make enquires with New Zealand customs, our thoughts being that when we leave OZ in October our Tourist visa is expired so they will only be to glad we're leaving with no return ticket. On the other hand New Zealand will being asking questions on our plans -Maybe a ticket to NZ and an arranged flight to UK ???
  6. We've been informed we can apply for a new tourist visa in NZ, hope this is correct???. We're still making enquiries about the airport custom bit of the travelling , NZ will allow you in with a return air ticket out to a country which you have the right to enter!- but we won't have the right of entry untill the visa is granted. Any advice?? We're going to the travel agent tomorrow hoping we can get some advice. Steph & Sue
  7. Hi We're in the same situation and many more people I bet, so hopfully we can all help. We're of the understanding you can apply (lodge) for your CPV while your here in OZ but will have to be outside OZ (offshore) to get it validated, so that would be around two years later. Our girls are coming up to the two years "settling in" period in OZ so we hope to apply for the CPV soon. :goofy:The 676 Visa is another story, we're coming to the end of our stay with the 8503-no further stay condition stamped into the visa so will be leaving OZ. We know we have to leave OZ to apply for a second 676 Visa, but can this be applied for Offshore in for example - NZ? Or do we have to go back to the UK for the application ?? We have friends in NZ who we could use for a residental address if we are allowed to apply off shore rather than back in the UK. Maybe someone can advise us both ??? Hope we've helped - we've had a wonderful time with our family and definitley could'nt have stayed in the UK and missed our grand-children plus we hope we've helped in their move. Steph and Sue
  8. Anyone successfully applied for a 2nd Tourist subclass 676 Visa for returning to Australia by going offshore to New Zealand instead of having to travel back to the UK?
