Is UK driving licence HGV class easy recognised in Australia? My friend is a HGV driver and insists it is recognised and he could work as a truck driver in Australia. VicRoads, RTA, WA DoT websites are a bit confusing, they recognise car and motorbike licence without resitting tests, but it looks like HR, HC class drivers must resit tests, and to obtain HR licence: Experience required to upgrade your licence or remove a restriction: Must have held: C (Car) class licence for at least two (2) years; or LR (Light Rigid) class licence for at least one (1) year; or MR (Medium Rigid) class licence for at least one (1) year. and HC class: Experience required to upgrade your licence or remove a restriction: Must have held: C (Car) class licence for at least three years (3); and MR (Medium Rigid) class licence or HR (Heavy Rigid) class licence for at least one (1) year. You are not alone Fryertuck I have exactly same experience and I can tell everyone this is a migration scam what Australia is doing. Australia lures migrants from the UK how beautiful is, better chances, cheaper cost of living, better lifestyle, etc, so I did all paperwork and migrated there with PR visa in my passport. All i found are ridiculous lies, and scams, pulling money out of migrant pocket for endless licenses, certificates, accreditations, etc . Having occupation in "high demand" I could not find a job, sent hundreds of CV, walking from door to door I was not able to find a job!!!!! I warn other migrants from the UK, whinging too much about the UK how bad is, I learn something in Australia, I mean I respected UK much more for jbb opportunities it creates. 3 years of my life was devastated in Australia, I did local trainings, courses, licenses, certificates, everything what was expected from me, and after 3 wasted years with bunch of Australian licenses in hand, local work experience I still had problems to find a job!!!!Then I understood this is a migration scam, all rubbish "Australia needs your skills" "skills shortage", all rubbish, scam to pull money out of migrant's pocket. This country has nothing to offer, except scam and lures migrants. Now we have financial crisis in the UK, after my return to the UK, I sent only a couple of CVs and found a job!!!!! in perfect Australia within 3 years I sent hundreds, perhaps thousand CVs, and had problems to find anything, and Australia says needs skilled labour, and lures migrants to come. All is a migration scam. I saw too many skilled migrants in Australia, working below qualifications, in low paid jobs, where their skills are just wasted to believe Australia needs any skilled labour, all what I found Australia needs migrants' money to push own economy, all schools, training centres, certifications, all is a scam to pull money out of migrant's pocket

2007. Coles -my first visit when I arrived to Australia, "perfect" country. "English mustard", a small jar = 2.25$, English mustard made in Australia of course, while in the UK, a bigger jar was about 0.2£, 1£=2.2$(2007), Newcastle Brown Ale was 1 pint 8$, my favourite Tetley tea was 4 times more expensive, and taste was like made of saw dust, not proper Tetley tea, completely different than English Tetley, just brewed saw dust, if you can imagine. Day by day, I was shocked how Australia was more expensive than the UK, at least 3 times, and quality was much worse, everything overpriced and overrated.

How people can live and pay bills being 3-4 years unemployed doing courses? Where are these jobs in the best country to live in the world? I check careerone.com. and seek.com and I see only low numbers of jobs as low like in 2009, it means hundreds of applicants applying for jobs - huge competition. I moved back last year from Oz to the Uk, send few cv's at the beggining and while enjoying my first days wth friends in lovely pubs I got 3 phone calls. One of them was on Thursday to go on 1 day training on Friday and start on Monday next week, but I had to refuse 'cos I didnt have a suitable vehicle and waiting for my tool boxes I shipped from Australia. Got another job next days and our manager asked us to work on Sunday and everyone refused - but in australia I was happy to work any days and didnt refuse to work Sundays for standard rate. financial recession - I never had any problems to find a job in the UK but always had problems in Australia
