My hubby and I have been living in Melbourne for 2 years and working. He is a project manager in construction and I work in Local Gov. When we came over all 4 of our kids were on our Visa and in school or college. Since then my eldest son has become a full time worker and is over 18 and as we are going to put in for our PR we have been informed that he has to give up his full time job and sign on to study fulltime. He is devastated. This is what our Mig Agent has told him - someone else has told us that this is not true and we ought to ask another agents advice. Surely this cannot be true to have to first gain independance and then have to give it all up to study for somethng that may not be needed in the future? Hiya love, I'm a busy mum of 4 and we moved over (hubby too) in May. My kids are boys 14 and 18 and girls 5 and 7, the lads too are a bit slow at making friends and the elder one especially as he finished college and arrived here 3 weeks ago. If you were to go to college then you would make friends there definately as the Aussies afre very friendly. I have found that as soon as other poms hear you they make a bee line for you and take u under thier wing, thats whats happened to us anyway.
