Hi there I was looking for some feedback please. We lodged an application for Aged Parent (subclass 804) visa for our parents in 2018, where they were automatically granted a Bridging visa A. However, they left the country which resulted in the cancellation of their Bridging visa A. They are now in the position and ready to move here permanently whilst the subclass 804 visa is being processed(once borders open). However we are unsure whether the Bridging visa A can be reinstated? Has anyone ever been in this situation and if so, when your parents decided to return, how easy was it to restore their Bridging visa A so they could live here legally? What steps did you have to take to reinstate the Bridging visa A and were there any additional forms you had to complete? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm hoping somebody can please help. My parents applied for an 804 parent visa back in 2018. They subsequently left the country and went back to the UK. Their bridging visa expired immediately once they left and they now want to move here permanently once the border situation improves. We've been advised they will need to enter the country with an evisitor visa and then once onshore, apply for a bridging visa A using form 1005. Is this the correct approach please? Are there any risks associated with this because they want to sell their UK property before arriving in Australia? Thank you. Mez

Hi, my parents applied for a 143 contributory parent visa (offshore) at the end of 2015. We didn't expect the visa processing to take so long but it looks like processing won't start until the end of next year Is there some sort of bridging visa my parents can get so they can come over and live here whilst waiting for the permanent visa to be processed? Hi, we were granted our permanent visa in August and are planning to move to WA in May 2014. After reading the driving legally laws in WA, i'm a little confused/worried. It says that you can drive legally for up to 3 months after your permanent visa being granted. Obviously by the time we make the move, the 3 months will be long gone. Does this mean I won't be able to drive when we arrive in May 2014? :confused: Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi, we got a quote from PSS removals recently and they will provide all the boxes/packaging materials. They will bring them over on the day of the move and pack everything for us. I believe they empty any boxes u have prepacked and use their own. I guess that's how they all operate. Hope that helps.

Hi, its been a very long time since my last post on pomsinoz. I just wanted to share our excellent news and offer to help anyone in the situation we were in. We applied under visa subclass 175 (Computing professional NEC) in May 2009. We were waiting very patiently to have a case officer allocated but nothing at all was happening. I then decided to call DIAC back in February this year and they advised me to do another skills assessment. I completed this under the Systems and networks engineer (or something like that). Anyway, we've been granted our visa as of 21st August 2013 and are ecstatic :biglaugh:. Its been such a long wait and to be honest, I sort of gave up on it all. Now reality has struck and we have to decide when we're off. Its a very exciting but nerve wracking time. Anyone need any help, please give me a shout as I understand how stressful the process can be. Thanks, Mehul

Hi, its been a while since i've been on this website as we sort of gave up on our migration hopes. Basically, I applied for a 175 visa back in May 2009 after meeting the points requirement laid out at the time. Since then, due to the changes in the skills list, our priority was downgraded to a priority 5 :cry: I happened to call DIAC a few weeks back and asked if they would be able to estimate how long we will still be waiting. They suggested I should do another skills assessment. If successful, they said I can upload it to my current visa application and our priority will be upgraded to a priority 4. They also advised that I would not have to pay any additional fees to them nor resit an IELTS exam (phew). Please can anyone advise whether I've been provided with the correct information. I've already applied for a new skills assessment with ACS as a 'Network & Systems Engineer'. Really hoping its successful as we feel our hopes are once again reignited :smile: Any advice on this is much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I applied for a 175 visa back in May 2009. I applied using the code 2231-79 (Computing Professional - NEC). I met all the points criteria at the time. Since then, a lot with regards to the immigration rules have changed and very little has happened with the progress of my application. I received an email explaining I am in Category 5 and should expect a long wait to be assigned a CO. I am now 36 and am getting worried the application won't be processed before they can say i'm too old. We really want to move to Western Australia and i'm not sure how to go about getting my application changed. Some simple steps I can take will really help and be much appreciated. Since I applied, i've changed jobs but am still working in IT as a 'Problem Analyst'. Can somebody help by giving me some pointers on the job I could apply under? Many thanks and hope I can get some help...
