Hi Jason, Sorry for the late reply, I get slack at coming on here sometimes. Yes Cairns is very beautiful, what's not to love. I'm on nightshift just now, my days off at the moment are Mon-Weds if you are free for a catch up at any point. Joan

I'm hopeful this is our last huge move, I do love Cairns, you just can't beat nice weather most of the year round. Although the humidity is yuck!

This is my 1st St Patricks Day in Melbourne too, it'll be shenanigans in the City for me. -
Hi, I worked for a year in Townsville in Mental Health, are you from the UK? It's very different from UK nursing and takes some adjusting too. Townsville is beautiful and very family orientated, plenty for kids to do, they have a great water park and also outdoor lagoons at the Riverway and in the suburb of North Shore. As for the heat, summer is very humid and horrible, it's also "wet season" which we loved-the rain was a welcome cool down. I got sponsored really easily and applied directly through Queensland Government. Good Luck Joan

I was ment to be staying with another nurse who has just made the move however the circumstances have changed and i need to find a place to stay or where to go, what area. I'm sick worried what to do. And could you kindly show me around Melbourne or go out for drinks. My future employer is going to show me round the hospital in Melbourne when i come out in march. That's ok Kate, I appreciate you getting back to me though. I have emailed RUN as they have properties for rent in those areas. Thankyou again. We looked to see where Point Cook is and we think it's a wee bit too far away as I don't drive and will be reliant on the public transport. Joan

Hi Kate, We are looking to live around the Northcote, Fairfield, Thornbury etc area as I will be working in Fairfield. I never imagined there would be so much hassle trying to get somewhere, although I understand why they insist on inspections it's still very frustrating. I will have a look at the ones you've mentioned, thankyou ) Joan

Hi Guys :biggrin: My husband and I are in the process of relocating from Townsville North QLD to Melbourne, we didn't realise until we were en route to holiday home that we needed to inspect properties prior to applying :mad: So I am wondering if any of you know of any short term accommodation places or if there is anybody out there who might be kind enough to view a couple of properties on our behalf? Any other advice suggestions would be so greatly appreciated. We are looking to arrive in Melbourne on the 24th October. Many thanks Joan :wubclub:
