  11. Graeme In reply to your message, I came from the same Police backgroud as you, Road Policing and I try and direct the majority of my work to subjects relating to vehicles, collisions, vehicle thefts etc. Unfortunately sponsorship for this type of role in Australia is rare, although investigation companies can't seem to recruit and retain the right calibre of investigators. The company I work for a currently still looking and have been for nearly a year. Again the issue with many is that most investigators are employed as Operators (ie. self employed). To be honest with you I started that way but was offered a full time position after a couple of months. The money makes the big difference in that as a self employed investigator your earning potential is far higher sometimes upto double what you may earn as an employee. You also have the chance to right alot of expenses off through your tax returns. The only down side is you need to hold a Master Licence is self employed but if salaried you only need an Operators Licence. If you need any further info let me know. When are you planning to move out or is it in the early stages?
  12. We currently have a vacancy for a trainee investigator based at our offices in Meadowbank, Sydney. Ideally you will have either a Policing background or currently studying law. The role will include making enquiries on behalf of Senior Investigators, taking statements, recorded interviews with witnesses, making neighbour enquiries at scenes, liaising with Police and other agencies and other general duties. You must computer literate, have a probing mind, knowledge of Internet based social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter and be willing to take direction and learn new skills. The position would suit someone that wants flexible working hours. Please either PM me or email CV to nwroe@worksite.net.au to be considered
  13. You will have to apply via NZ for the passport and no need for a visa stamp it's all digital

  19. Hourly rate is an open question really dependant on experience and/or where the job is. Expenses are also paid for travel to/from the different locations. Basically when you're out on a job every minute chargeable ... PM me for further info.
  20. If there are any ex-Police Officers out there either moving or moved to Sydney or NSW that want to stay in a similar investigation role please get in touch. I've been working as an Insurance Investigator since moving to Sydney and we just can't employ and retain decent Investigators, they don't seem to stay in the job for long! Advise and assistance can be given in relation to licensing and equipment/training for the right person.
  21. Up for sale is my 2005 Suzuki VStrom 650 cc motorcycle in great condition and a great bike for touring, couriering or to use as a daily ride. Owned by an ex-Police motorcyclist so well looked after and not hammered and owned for the last year without fault or breakdown. It's got NSW Rego to April 16th but can be re-registered at the new owners expense. The bike has 25,500 kms on the clock and has been serviced every 6 months or so and has all the receipts. I've recently renewed both front and rear tyres and serviced by a local Ducati specialist. Chain and sprockets have plenty of life left in them. The bike also comes with large top box, iPhone holder, trickle charger and other bits. Photos available at request and any further info can be requested via PM me. Priced at $5995
  22. Mate, I've got 18 years police Pension and I was told to keep it where it was until I come to claim it. Pensions work differently in Australia and works better for you if kept in the UK and not transferred!
