  1. We're making arrangements to move to Perth end of Feb we're both coming up 47 admin/secretary and painter decorator. Should we be worried about finding work I don't think we'd cope 8 months out of work!
  2. Hi, how do you register as a painter? My OH is a painter decorator has been for 30 years thinking of moving over end February but feeling some concerns regarding work. Do you feel there is still plenty of work around for painters? Thank you.
  3. I would be interested in the answer to that question too :cute:
  4. We're flying out on the 5th September from Heathrow, flying Singapore Airlines. Sooo very excited!!!!! Good luck to everyone!!!:laugh:xxxx
  5. Will you be putting all these toiletries in your cases or the crate? Cos I was thinking of stocking up with washing powder/capsels but knew it would be a weight problem with the cases.
  6. Your blog makes me laugh out loud but nearly cried when I saw the pictures of the rental, I'm sure we'll see our fair share of horrors when we arrive in September, but I will not open the cupboard doors and will try not to look too desperate!!!
  7. We've had a few quotes and they were all £4k or just over, nothing below.
  8. Hi Rebecca, Fingers crossed for a quick sale of your house and for your son joining you at some point not too far in the future. Let us know how things go. Tracey xx
  9. Hi Rebecca, I'm sure we've all had the exact same thoughts as you, I know I have, it's a big leap into the unknown but unfortunately we won't know if its the right move or not unless we do it. I hope your 17 year old changes his mind. My son is 17 in October, we're flying out in September, he'd rather stay here but there's no way I could leave him behind. When are you thinking of going over? Tracey
  10. Hi deb, we're going over 5th September with Singapore Airlines. My son will be 17 in October and I have a 13 year old daughter. We're staying in Mullaloo for 4 weeks and then we'll have a look for areas with good schools for Chloe and see what we can get, we're also bringing the dog over so we're expecting a bit of a rough ride finding a long term rental. I know what you mean about it being an exciting but scary time, I'm really wishing the time away as I just want to get there and start living. It's the not knowing thats scary, especially as Lee won't have a clue about work until we get there, he's a painter & decorator (general builder). We were up in the loft today sorting out stuff to keep and stuff to throw, the amount of the kids school stuff I've got up there is unbelievable!!! The garage is the next big job! Keep in touch. Traceyx
  11. I'd be interested to hear, we were thinking of Kinross too. When are you going over? Tracey
  12. Thanks Craig, I think deep down I knew it wasnt worth the expense, my husband said the same. Up for sale it is then. :-) Tracey
  13. Hi, could you give me your opinion on my car, it's probably going to cost about £4k to bring it over, wonder if its worth it:- Volvo C30 Rdesign, 2008, 1.8 petrol (they only do 2.4 in aus), 25,000 miles, aircon Paid £13,500 two years now worth UK £8,000 Aus market value (red book) $13-15k (for 2.4) Many thanks
  14. All the best for the move, wishing you the perfect life downunder. :biggrin:Tracey Frost:cute:
  15. Hello Mandy (Frostie), Just reading through this thread and noticed your name and the fact you live in West Sussex, my name is Frosties and I also live in West Sussex, we're going over to Perth in September. It threw me for a minute, I thought I don't remember posting this. How funny. 4 weeks to go, things must be pretty full on at the moment!!! By the way Shaza, lovely to hear your sort of post, wish you and your family all the best. Tracey (Frosties)
