  3. Hi Ramsay, would it be possible to outline the procedure of the safe isolations part of the exam. Many thanks for your help Grant
  4. Hi, Ramsey very helpful info just wanted to know how many questions in the written exam and how long do you get for this section? Just had confirmation that I can proceed to my practical assessment so will be booking on the next available one.many thanks in advance for any help. Grant
  5. Hi Babs, Sorry to hear that you are going stir crazy, Im still in the Uk so not much help I'm afraid. I would however be really interested in your thoughts of Tapping, schools ( I have a 7 yr old daughter) shops, things to do. Its one of the areas we have just started to look at. Many people have said about the problems of getting a long term rental, did you find this a problem at all. Any info would be really helpful. Thanks & Good luck to you all

    Passports???

Hi In my eyes, and I'm sure someone will advise us........once you enter Oz on a Uk passport that holds your visa type......you then have to wait 5 years in order to apply for citizenship, only then can you apply for an Oz passport. So Im thinking that your UK passport to simplify things needs to be valid for at least 5 years (or you have the hassle of renewing it if it expires before you can get citizenship) Otherwise you could have the expense of paying twice, once for Uk and once for Oz (loadsa dosh if you have a large family)...I think. Would be good to get somebody elses view of this
  7. Wow you must really lurve your job to do a journey like that every day. Can totally understand the complications of a social life with work mates now. I'd go down the neighbour route, they have extended an arm of friendship (or they just want you to cut ya grass LOL). When you go get the mower ask them about local clubs and stuff to do......ask them in for a drink to say thanks. They sound nice people and might also be looking for new friends. I'd also put a meeting up thread on PIO for your area for new friends. All the best
  8. Hello, If I were you I'd ask the people at work about clubs and things to do (dont right them off just yet).....most people have an interest to do something outside of work like swimming, jogging, dancing but like you dont have anyone to go with or because the OH isnt interested. So put it out at work what you'd like to do and someone is bound to jump on the band wagon and tag along to some kind of class or activity. You'll be sending a lot of time with workmates, and it doesnt hurt to shout out at lunchtime your going to a park or bar for a drink, does anyone want to join you. My mum always said you may not want to go to the party, but if you dont go you wont know what you are missing out on. And if its rubbish you can always come home. Rabbling now Good Luck
  9. OMG thats terrible, what a horrible airline. Im sure that everything will work out good on the flight. But if it doesnt and the person next to your son has a total heart of stone... look them in the face.....hand them a toy and explain........... this is to calm him down, the wet wipes are in the bag as he's likely to be sick after take off, he will only sleep if you read him a story and he'll need changing in about an hour. I travelled to Oz with my daughter when she was 2, and she was amazing, they gave us loads of pens and books and stuff to do on the flight. Safe travelling X
  10. What a lovely story. Good Luck to you and your family. I was wondering, do you think your situation would have been helped if you could have come back to the UK for an extended holiday rather than move back ? Also did any of the family and friends you missed so much come and visit you out in Perth before you came back. If yes did the visits help or hinder your need to come home ? . Wishing you all the very best in Perth
  11. Sorry to hear about your mum. Have you thought about writing her a letter. Good Luck, you have to do whats right for you and your family.
  12. Hello I have an Assie facebook friend thats selling them on the Gold Coast, if thats any good to you ? X
  13. I dont mind small spiders as such..........but those Huntsmen are rather.... huge ...large. Something smaller in Oz is probably more dangerous, so Im afraid anything with more than 4 legs that comes in my house would get squished without a doubt. Having said that I dont think I could actually tackle a Huntsmen myself, or even know how to go about dealing with it. The local critter man or what ever they are called will be on speed dial LOL
  14. Hahahahaha that video is funny, although I will be coming to oz with Sunnies, flip flops, a fishing landing net and a baseball ba,t now I've seen that. Seriously though HOW are you supposed to get something that size outa your house safetly ?
  15. Sorry that you dont feel great, but sometimes you have to hit the bottom, in order to climb back up. Well done for doing something about it, the only way is up.. keep talking it helps x
