    Aussies Quit UK

Yes, and they want to put a hold on visa457 (except for very specialised jobs) to give them a change to get emplyedment in a shrinking Oz market

    sponsorer ruining our lives

I have heard of similar cases. In fact the Visa457 is up for a review with minimum wages increased to $50k. Apparently because many are exploited and vunerable position. Just had 2 cases of sponsors terminated sponsorship due to lack of CF. Visa457 holders then has 28 days to find a new sponsor. Do you have an stablished network where you can spread the word for sponsorship and you can tap into?

    citizenship and residency question

Yes, you right. Also with a 457 you need sponsorship from a local company. The company can then after 2 yrs assist with a PR application while in Oz. Do you have a sponsor?

  7. Hi everyone I am an expat South African staying in sunny Perth. We have emigrated from Pretoria, South Africa 3 years ago and obviously been through some emotional times but I believe that Australia is now our home. I had the privilege to live in New Malden, Surrey many years ago for about 8 months as part of a job contract. We had a fantastic time in the UK. So what am I doing on this forum? Well first I stumbled on it (also britishexpats.com) and picked up on some of the threads. I am not sure if it is the Anglo Saxon blood, but I could see big similarities in the pain that some experience. I hope to pose a few questions across the forum; it is always good to see it from others view points as well. Regards ottg

    Why are you leaving UK

Hi I am new to this forum; feels like an intruder so be nice. Being an expat South African now staying in Perth (Snoozzzzville) that stumbled across this website and very intrigued by some of the very interesting threads I have read here, I also have some burning questions. Of all the number of South Africans emigrating from South Africa, the majority leave for the UK (especially young graduates), then Australia and then Canada. a. What are the 3 main reasons why you have left the UK? b. Why did you pick Australia? c. Those in Perth, why Perth? d. Do you intent to return to the UK and why? Thanks
