Re.exchanging sterling........we were advised on Friday to maybe sit tight for a few days, as there was prob going to be a hung parliment which means we would get more dollars for our pounds........that was from one of the big exchange companies but I can't remember which, as we rang alot on fri as we were ready to exchange all our money! Not being experts on this type of thing just hoping we made the right decision?!!

Fantastic news! Wait till I tell my son he'll be thrilled if it's on weekly..... he said it's about the only thing he'll miss on uk tv!......we fly out to Brisbane a week on Thursday eeek!

....they were fab!!! Couldn't fault them! They came and wrapped everything yesterday and this morning they finished wrapping and then loaded the container. A great team of 3 chaps all employed by the company (not subbies) would thoroughly reccomend Robinsons so far........now the container is on its journey fingers crossed everything else goes as smoothly :biggrin: It sets sail next Tues 3rd August and is due to dock in Brissie 16th Sept again fingers crossed!!

We have!! they have just been with us for the past 2 days and up to now couldn't fault them. Hoping the rest of the journey goes as smoothly!! Our container left here about 3pm this afternoon and should now be on its way to Felixstowe docks. A great team of 3 chaps all employed by Robinsons....one of them for 30 odd years!!

Talktalk told us it would cost us £70 to pull out of our contract..........but they have said they will let us off as we are moving abroad and therefore not going to another provider. :cool:

Spoke to Nationwide last week, they said to just change our address to a relatives or friends so they can occasionaly forward statements etc but not to do it as 'care of'..............didn't explain why though?!!

We are hoping to get our 16 yr old son into Helensvale High for years 11 & 12. He is just sitting his GCSEs here in Uk. We are hoping he will go into year 10 for the last term or half term poss at begining Oct........that's the plan anyway :wink:

Hi pontepom........great to hear your liking Helensvale :biggrin: We're heading out to Helensvale too!!! We have friends there and it comes highly reccommended. We have two boys 16 yrs and 8 yrs so have researched (as much as we can) the Primary and the High School. We fly out August the 26th and are in a short term rental for 3 weeks at Upper Coomera, whilst lookin for jobs, and securing a rental so we'll be able to get the boys in School. Wow!! It's all been happenin on here congratulations to all getting visas and COs!! We got our passports back yesterday with lovely new visa stickers in!
