  1. Well 3 months under the belt now and I see that we are all on the right tracks. Just got my medical done this morning so not far behind you vickyplum !! Also sent off the british and ozzie police checks for processing, so hopefully they wont take too long. Time is flying in.....so now we will have to be thinking about getting our flat decorated and ready for going on the market in the new year. Lots to do, but glad that the forms and medical are all complete. Fingers crossed for positive, quick results for us all.
  2. My application for 309/100 was sent in on 23/08 and I also have not yet heard anything like the other posters. Not too concerned as money taken but I am interested if people think the processing times will be going up as it looks like perhaps they are very busy as not allocating CO's for a number of weeks, rather than days. Any thoughts ?
  3. Taking a two-pronged approach at the moment. Preparing flat for selling and preparing application for posting. After the weekend's activities (of the DIY kind...undercoating/painting ) the flat is in better shape than my application which is resembling a heap of unorganized papers on the bedroom floor. Progress seems to slow on both fronts as everyday life keeps getting in the way, but I have to keep focused on what is important and what I want ( a new life in oz with my partner ) and make that happen. It inspires me when I read how far down the line you all are and you exciting it must be......
  4. Hi Chantel - I know just how you are feeling....for me too !! one question leads to another, then I think of another.....and then usually another just as I am trying to go to sleep !! Its great to get advice on here though isn't it ?? I think its definitely two statements at least, but I've read people putting more than that in and I am unsure as well. Hopefully someone will let us know. Also, would statements from aussies have anymore 'weight' than ones from uk friends ?
  5. Thanks for that - think I'll make sure I pop that in anyway now then, rather than leave them anything to chase me up for needing later.
  6. yes, I see your point, but her birth cert is actually british as she was born here and then her parents emmigrated when she was 2 - she has her citizenship on the botttom of her mum's papers. maybe I'm thinking too hard about all this - paperwork is doing my nut in !!
  7. Hello reading along as I am also about to get a few friends and relatives to do statements for my own application too !! Trying to understand the requirements. Still confused though.....have i understood this correctly -mine will be from uk friends and family and I was going to just get them on plain A4 to provide a statement and give their contact details. Must this document be certified and must they provide their uk passports ? Help...
  8. Hello everyone, Can anyone please advise.....I am putting together the paperwork for my 309/100 visa application and would like to find out if we need to provide my partner's (she's the australian one !! ) citizenship papers ? I know we will need her birth certificate and australiain passport, but am unsure if we must also prove her citizenship..... any ideas ? Thanks.
  9. For the partner visa I have to prove that we have been in a "genuine and continuing" relationship ( minimum 3 years for a permanent visa I think ) and I understand that joint finances are a large part of illustrating this. Yes....you must be excited if you are posting yours off today - good luck !! . I am rather more behind and am at the stage of looking into the requirments and feeling a little overwhelmed. I wonder if as your visa is different we might have different requirements if you need only send a document for each year...I think I might need more that that, hopefully someone will set me right. Thanks.
  10. Hello Just beginning to put together my application and evidence. Hope someone can help with the first ( probably of many..!! ) of my questions. We have been together for 7 years and have joint bank accounts and evidence for most of that time. This weekend pulled everything out and covered the floor in the lounge in paperwork !! After seeing all that I am unsure so the question is this, how many should I include ? Should I be providing evidence/statements for every month of the last 7 years ? Any advice gratefully recieved...thanks
  11. Hello Can anyone help answer this please......I am looking to apply for a partner 309/100 visa in a short while. I understand that as we have been together for 5 years it may be likely that we would get a permanent visa straight away hopefully. When we move over from the uk to australia we intend to live a nomadic life and plan to buy a caravan to live in and travel around to work -time to exit the rat race !! My concern is that we would need to have a permanent address and some restrictions may limit our ability to move around. Does anyone know if this is the case ? I'd be grateful for some input as I'm reallly worried.....
