We would like to visit Albany/Denmark in Dec/Jan time but the kennels are booked up, I have looked at Big 4 campsites but they dont allow dogs in the school holidays so wondering if anyone knows of pet friendly accomodation? Thanks

We have used Baldivis Boarding Kennels, its about 10 minutes from Rockingham and seems to be fine, (we have a Murphy too!)

I do understand where you are coming from, we talked about coming to Australia for a long time before we actually moved over so the kids had always known that we would one day move, our then 9 year old was apprehensive about going but we explained it as an adventure and if we didnt like it after a few years we could come back, when our visa came through our 6 year old daughter sobbed that she didnt want to go because "they dont speak my language"! little things like that can stress out kids and when we explained to her she was fine with it, we have been here nearly a year and the kids all love it here, they instantly made new friends at school and we put them in similar clubs they had been in the UK so they could make friends with similar interests. I found the flies a pain when we got here and sounds daft but found that when I changed shampoo from Fruity or herbal to a non scented one they were so much better and didnt annoy me as much, I now never use very scented shampoo or conditioner on the kids or me when the flies are around.

Personally I'd go to Singapore ....... just because it's a nicer airport!! Thanks for your replies thats good to know, she wanted to go with Emirates as they fly from Newcastle and she wanted to avoid Heathrow if possible but I might look into her flying with Singapore Airlines from Manchester instead as yes I agree Singapore Airport is really nice.

Hi, my mum is hoping to come over from the UK to visit us in Perth in December, she has lung problems and takes a lot of medication including steroids, she would like to fly with Emirates but I am a bit concerned at her bringing medication through Dubai and wondered if she would be better going through Singapore instead? Does anyone have any experience of this? Obviously she would have a doctors letter with her, I also wondered if it would be possible for her to post her drugs to us ahead instead but not sure if this would be allowed through customs etc? Any help would be great thanks

Having lived in the same town in the UK for years before moving 8 months ago, I had a strong group of friends, I have kept in touch with them via skype and phone calls, its not quite the same and you have to make the effort, I have made friends easily over here, I think it depends on you really, you have to put yourself out there to meet people, they wont come to seek you out, but I now have a lovely group of friends over here who have been fantastic.

We moved from the UK to the Rockingham area last September and we love it here, its close enough to get into the city and the trains are really good too.

We have only been here 7 months so definitely still have our Geordie accent although I am often asked if I am welsh?! Son who is 9 still sounds the same but daughter who is 7 has now got a proper Aussie twang and does that inflection at the end of a sentence as if she was asking a question, although she does this even more when she is with her school friends so I think it is probably to fit in.

Bathing in drops of Lavender oil clears up the spots really quickly and helps the healing, used this with both of mine when they had it and worked wonders.

Hi, the school my 3 kids are at runs a 3 year old kindy programme, it is St Bernadettes in Port Kennedy, the kids love the school and we are really pleased with it too.

I was wondering if that might be the case as it looks like it travelled up the WA coast and then is on its way back down again, hadnt thought of the fact that they were all attacks on men so that is interesting, OH wants to go diving again now we are here but have to say am not keen on him doing that at the minute!

This is definitely worrying, before we arrived I used to convince myself there were only maybe one attack a year and what were the chances of it happening, and although I knew there had been a few recently this is scary thats its gone from maybe one every couple of years to 4 in the last 6 months, think I will just stay on dry land for a while!
