Just got 856 approved today after 9 months!!!! Sooooo happy

We are now at the final stages. Were just waiting for my husbands work to submit 2 bits of pprwork. We applied at parammata on the 19th of August last year and were allocated a co 7 months later after our app. was transferred from paramatta to Perth. Its been a looong haul, but we are nearly there now!!!

Ours was sent to Paramatta but was sent to Perth. We had no idea it was sent there if I hadn't of rung them. BTW our application was receipted in Paramatta on the 19th August 2010. We've now been allocated a CO & shud have PR within a week or so ( just waiting for sponsoring company to send them 2 documents.

Were about 15 mins from terrigal. Terrigal is beautiful but if your hubby needs to commute to Sydney, he'd have to get to gosford (about 15 min drive) which is the nearest train station for terrigal. -

Also ppl on a 457 are classed as residents for tax purposes, so you shouldn't be paying 26% tax!

If your wife is not working then you are able to claim the spousal offset as you aren't entitled to centrekink payments. We've been here 3 years on a 457 & each year we have gotten about $2600 back with our tax return. It also depends on how much you earn, but being able to claim the spousal offset does help. We arrived in April 08 & hubby got all his tax bck that same year in July. Hope this helps

You won't miss out on the baby bonus, as long as you get PR within 6 months of the baby being born you will get it. We just got allocated a co for both apps and should hopefully have within a few weeks. I'm having a csection on the 15th of April..

We got allocated a CO today after 7 months. He's requested 2 things from the employer then that's it. Our side is all sorted! I can't believe the end is finally here. After 2 457 visas I'm soooo ready for PR!!

I think cuz we've been waiting so long I start thinking about anything tha could go wrong. My hubby is a panel beater & his wage is above the 47000 a year but I was reading about the TSMIT and I'm worrying that if the other employers don't earn that, then the nomination will be refused. Do they ask to see what everyone else makes? Any panel beaters get the ens visa? I'm probably just getting paranoid but a little re-assurance would be great!!

I have epilepsy & take medication everyday. My neurologist even said I have a big epilepsy problem & I still passed no probs. Hope this helps

Ours was in parramatta but now is in Perth. I emailed Perth & was told I'd have a co in 3 weeks max. Might b worth checking if your app is still in paramatta. We applied in august last year. If hadn't of enquiried about it, they wouldn't have told me it's in Perth.

We just had our meds done in sydney for our pr. For 2 adults & 2 kids it was $970. Much cheaper in oz than in the uk!!

We have a Tom Tom 920 we bought in the uk. It has an internal hardrive, so no sd cards needed. It came preloaded with uk, Europe, Asia, Canada and north America on it! When we arrived for about $59 we downloaded Australia onto it and it's been fantastic! In fact my Aussie friend borrows it all the time as she swears it's better than hers!
