    JAMIE, i was given cost of 1 mth accomodation, and they paid for permanent residency application after i completed 2yr contract . this was 6 yrs ago. Midwives are very much in demand and have a lot of experience that Aussie ones may not have . IT is well worth negotiating . good luck Marge

    Hi to the Prendergast fAMILY. The Irish Echo newspaper advertise ST PATRICKS picnic in edinburgh gdns in the city . It is not huge but a way of meeting up . I hope you all enjoy . the next couple of months back home. I would not bother bringing heavy coats/leather jackets unless you are skiers. Hope that helps , regards MARJ and family

    Welcome,Marie all i can advise is if you wish to apply to Catholic schools fine ,otherwise kids take 3 yrs to do prep for communion if not in catholic school/attend weekly other school.One does not need to bring heavy coats/leather jackets .Winters here v. mild in comparison to the freezing cold back home. i live in melbourne suburbs,teenager and twin 11yr old twin boys best of luck .
