    Husband just made redundant

Hi Lisa, I personally wouldn't notify DIAC until you have explored your options. No point in letting them know unless you really have to. Regards, John

Notify DIAC if I change my job after visa granted???

You have been granted the visa already and there are plenty of people who have came to Australia and changed their type of employment. I know many people who have come here on a 189 and a 175 and are not working in their skill. Dont worry about it, no need for DIAC to know as they have already granted your visa. Cheers, John

    Permanent resident 176 visa Victoria

Hi, I think you may find that the bank you dealt with is being over cautious. There are many more financial institutions around rather than the banks who would be happy to advise. I am a permanent resident and found that once I had credit ( car loan ) then I was being offered anything I wanted. If you want any info about talking to someone regarding finance for a home then please PM me. Hope this helps. John
  4. Hi Woodster, I have been out here for about 2 and a half years and rented a few properties. You can get short term contents insurance, but you can also take out a permanent policy and just notify the insurers of change of address. Try Budget Direct, they are quite good. Hope this helps. J
  5. Hi Valerie, When I was over in Perth, I used easyroommate.com and also Gumtree to look for shared accommodation. Cheers, John :jiggy:

    Advice required for visa stamp

Hi All, I am hoping some of the more experienced members can help with my question. We have been told by our agent that we are in the Pre Grant stage and have to leave Australia for 8 working days for our visa to be granted and the stamp put in to our passports. We are going to a relative of mine who lives in Dunedin, New Zealand and as I believe, the office which deals with the stamping of the visa etc, is in Auckland which is the opposite end of New Zealand from where we will be. My question is, Do we have to go to the embassy in person or can we use a courier whilst in New Zealand? If someone has used a courier, can you tell me how long it took? Regards, John

    WA SS released Today.......

Hi Sivakumar, I am not quite sure how long it is taking at the moment, but it took us 6 months. That was at a time when there was a lot of applications going through. I would say that the best thing to do is to give them a call. I have always found them to be very helpful when I called before. Their number is 0061 8 9218 2100. Hope this helps, John

WA SMP - Has anyone been appointed a CO yet?

Hi Gemma, Give DIAC a call. We did this morning and found out that we were allocated a CO at the end of December. I think that there is a lot of new CO's and maybe they aren't updating the online checking system. Ours still says the same as it has always said but we are close to a grant. Hope this helps, John
