Hello Me an my partner arrived in Perth in April, and we are loving it!! We both have jobs, and my partner has been lucky enough to get sponsored! Unfortunately, until we can prove we have lived together for a year i cant go on his visa! I was wondering if anyone knew any good places or had any good contacts that i could do my regional work? I am a girl, but im not afraid of getting my hands dirty!! Any help much appreciated Thanks

sure is a small world eh lol?? yea we're loving here so far plus with the rain the now it makes it feel a bit more like home lol!! iv been an excavator operator for the past 4 yrs but was mostly laying drainage as well as the doing the other groundwork stuff for a few years b4 that. im hoping 2 get a sponsor here as a drainer then if it happens do my relevant qualifications here then hopefully apply 4 pr but its still early days. i believe tho if u want something bad enough u'll make it happen so stick in there. id say tho it might b hard 2 get a sponsor from uk so would prob b best 2 get out here on a holiday and go talk 2 a few companies when ur here. hope everything works out for the 2 of u and u get here soon!!!

hi folks im heading out 2 perth in april and have a rental in wilson and was looking 2 find any football teams around that area. i play amatuer here and keen 2 keep playing when i get 2 oz so was wondering if any1 has any info on teams local 2 there that may b looking for new players????

<p>hi there, that sounds great definitely interested. been on gumtree and other sites lookin 4 accommodation but still not found anythin so that would be great. got our flights booked so we'll arrive in perth on the 20th april, really excited now lol. had a good new year and xmas thanx, not quite sydney tho lol. spoke 2 an agent regarding sponsorship and he said i only need relevent qualifications if i was lookin for pr and as long as i had experience and employer was happy 2 sponsor then all will b fine. got 2 yrs of whv anyway so plenty time 2 worry bout that once we there. anyway thanx 4 thinkin about us and helping definitely 1 we owe u, speak soon, Adam.</p>

hi there, when u say your a 'qualified drainer' wot quals is it u have thats needed 4 sponsorship? im hoping 2 head over as well but wont get sponsorship cos i dont have quals 2 show. iv done the job 4 6-7yrs have my machine ticket but no formal drainer quals. looking 2 find out wot i need 2 get 2 qualify 4 sponsorship so hope u can help cheers, adam

Hi folks hope some1 can help here. Im looking 2 head 2 perth as a drainer but not sure exactly wot qualifications ur ask 2 show 4 visa. i have years of experience, have machine ticket but not sure wot quals exactly they want u 2 have 2 obtain a visa. has any1 else been in a similar situation and how was it resolved? hope some1 can help cheers Adam

<p>ahh, well i think il phone and c just exactly wot qualifications it is they actually want u 2 have 2 show and take it from there. iv got plenty experience but its the paperwork side of things that'll b the problem. emma's a customer service based manager with arnold clark but says she dont have any so called quals ie nvq's or such. hopefully we can get somethin sorted</p>

<p>hi hows things? was just readin a recent post u commented in about the machine man who strugglin 2 get a visa cos of the skills list, was just wonderin if its an easier process once ur there cos as u know it only whv we comin on and just wonderin if u think we should speak 2 an agent here or if easier 2 sort from that end as we'll b lookin 4 sponsorship. </p>

hi there, no u dont need medicals 4 a whv. we just filled the application out online then recieved a call 2 make payment and have it processd, it really is straight 4ward. not sure how that worked with that girl but it does say the funds r 2 show u can support urself 4 the 1st part of ur stay so prob b best 2 have that 2 show just incase. hope this helps

hi there, my girlfriend & myself r heading 2 perth in april on WHV's. we just got ours there. the requirements r u need a min of $5000 to support u 4 the 1st part of ur trip and that u have a return flight ticket or additional $1000 to buy 1 to get u home if things didnt work out. Was straight 4ward in gettin the visa. We used visa bureau and their site has all the info u need. hope this is of help 2 u & good luck with the move.

<p>good stuff, been reading up a little on working in the mines and sounds like the moneys gr8 but more a job 4 a single person. is the money still fairly good when working locally? set up a facebook profile and added u's so can keep in touch easier.</p>

<p>i used 2 work with ur other half at kilwuddie b4 u's moved 2 oz. hows life been out there? yeah me and girlfriend r comin out in july 4 definite now. applied 4 holiday visa so should have it within 8wks then we'll get flights booked after xmas. lookin at hostels 2 stay at when we get there so if u's know of any with a good name would appreciate any help. how is the work situation out there cos things r lookin grim again back here?</p>
