1. Hi. As said above your probably be looking at nearer the $350 mark. Yes you can get rentals tbat allow dogs( we did) but it does narrow your search quite a bit, your be so busy with everything else I would wait until you have secured your own home. Belmont, Grovedale Waurnponds are all very central and affordable areas.
2. We are going back in August and after a few pints in me old local the Green Man in Bracknell not far from Marlow a good ole Donor Kebab from a kebab van. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
3. Hi. We moved to Geelong 3+ years ago and love it here. We are about 50 mins from Melbourne and 30 mins to the Great Ocean Road, which is awesome.
4. So can we all agree the 10/11/2012 so Sarn can take that evening off
5. Oh go on then. Dont really drink but will make an exception. Will need date ASAP so Sarn can get time off work though.
6. I dont drive either and done my motorbike test and ride a scooter, its so so easy, scooters are so easy as well as theres no gears to change.
7. Our rental is $350 a week and thats about 40% of my net wage
8. Got a funny feeling once here in Vic your given 3 months or so to apply for Aussie licence. Contact vic rds.

11. Posted this on Facebook, (Brits in Geelong) Just seeing if the Poms in Geelong (pig) lads fancy meeting up next month Friday 4th or Sat 5th for a few frothies. Maybe the start of the monthly idea. Can go to Belmont again or head into the City.
12. I would go for Melbourne Victory.............. Soccer.
13. We live in Hamlyn Heights which is Ok and an easy bus ride into Town. Highton is nice and my personal favourite. Newtown Grovedale and Waurn Ponds are ok too. I dont drive and done a motorbike / scooter test (real real easy) and i use a scooter to get about on.
14. Didnt you see my other suggestion on facebook??
15. Not sure about about Perth but here in Vic you get a lot more Grant if you build. I think its $7k First Home Owners Grant to buy and a further bonus of $13k if you build a new home.
16. I will just add my 2 pennyworth, sorry if been said before didn't have time to read 9 pages lol. We came here on a skilled 475 temp Visa i am a Glass Cutter/ processor by trade, a trade that has always paid poorly for a fairly dangerous and skilled job, i was on £9 an hr in England. We came to Geelong Victoria in 2009 with my stepdaughter and family. I found work within 2 weeks and now earn $25 hr Sarn (the mrs) a care worker found work after a month but was told her NVQS aren't any good here so she done there course (Cert 3) but as Soon was retraining they let her work anyway. I've never had much money and prob never will same as my Daughter and family, they struggled big time in Uk. We are very happy here yeah things are priced different and some things seem expensive and yes it gets hot and cold here in winter. My stepdaughter and family absolutely love it they both found work, and they spend so much time on the beach or by the river and the kids LOVE IT. We live a 30 min drive to Great Ocean Road and its stunning. I appreciate some people came here or wanted to come here to make there fortune but for a lot of people just being here and seeing the kids and family happy is enough. There's more to life than money, soak up the sun, go for a free walk, paddle whatever just enjoy. Life's short enjoy it.
17. Probably a day at the beach and a few frothies, i got an RDO on the Friday so doublely good.

absolute novice

Hi. When we started the first thing we done was do a online points test this will give you a rough idea how many points you have. We then got prices from various migration agents and got a free consultation and they can then tell you exactly how many points you can get and your best Visa option. When you have this info you can either sign up to an agency ( our was well expensive £4000) or opt to do it all yourselves. Have a look at the DIAC website under Visas theres a wealth of stuff on there, and here. It will all make more sense when you know what Visa you need.
19. Hi. We opened up an account with Westpac from Uk and transfered some funds over through a money broker. As with Nab you then activate it on arrival. Our Westpac accounts are free as long as theres x amount paid in each month which our weekly salary covers.
20. Hi. Not sure where your heading but here in Victoria we didn't really struggle to find pet friendly rentals and this is our 3rd rental in 2 years, most asked the size of dog and that they would ask landlord. What we did struggle with was the money some wanted for rentals that were about 30-50 years old no heating (needed here in winter) or air con and really really old fashioned and had not seen a paint brush in about 20 years. We are now in a small 3 bed house/unit that's about 2 years old paying $340 a week.
21. If WA is the same as Victoria then theres no state school fees as such. BUT you do pay a lot for books laptops ( older kids) etc. My step daughter gets a list at the end of term for stuff the kids need in there new year, which unfortunatly falls just after xmas at the end of Jan. This year i think it was about $800 for the eldest who is going to be a 2nd year senior (dont know what year they call it lol) and approx $350 each for the 2 that are at Junior school (8 &11 year olds).
22.

Hi. Not sure how i got onto this from Pomsinoz but im guessing your dieting and as someone who lost 12kgs last year just wondered if youve tried Body Trim. Im not trying to sell it as ive got all the info to share, its quite strict high protein low/no carb but once your into it it really works.

23. I would say thats proberly 95% of people who emigrate, obviously your special.
