Ping Pong Pom - Return Resident Visa activation

Thanks Angie. Are you going back then? I just need to figure out what to do with the new baby who obviously doesn't have a visa.

Ping Pong Pom - Return Resident Visa activation

Yes I did 2 years and 3 months I can get the visa. I'm just not sure about activation.
  4. Has anyone on here had to get a return resident visa recently? Was there a 12 month activation period on the visa, like the 136 Permanent Resident Visa? I've got about 6 months left to apply for mine. Which would mean flying my family of now 6 out to Aus within the next 18 months. What a shame that would be:smile: even though it would cost a small fortune. Jonsgot

    booster seats and the airline

Hi - I had more or less the same concern with taking car seats. I phoned Emirates today to ask them if you can take car seats into the cabin and they said yes, but it counts towards your carry on weight allowance - which is 7kgs per person. You can also put them in the hold but again, its part of you weight allowance (20kgs + an extra 40kgs if you are emigrating!) So, I don't see that booster seats wouold be a problem given car seats are bigger and heavier. Sally
  6. We're emigrating to Sydney in September this year. I've also emailed a transfer taxi firm to see if they offer the use of car seats as part of their service. Well, its worth a shot.
  7. Don't worry I wasn't even considering it. I've check with the airline you can take car seats in the hold.
  8. Hi - I'm new to this site and have question that has been bugging me and hope someone can help... If a friend has offered to pick you up from sydney airport and you have 2 kids and no car seats, what do you do? I'm assuming it is law for kids to travel in the apprpriate car seat in Sydney but if my friend doesn't have them, can you make just one journey without them or are there taxi firms that carry car seats that I could book at the airport? Do airlines help with this sort of thing? Thanks Sally Seadon
  9. Hi we lodged at the end of Aug and got our visa last week. If we'd done our meds in advance of being requested it would probably have come sooner and we wouldn't have had to ask for an extension when they were requested, as it took about 2 months to book and get our medical results. I guess it depends on how soon you want to get there. We've only got 9 months left to activate our visa now.
