  1. That's how I look at it. It would be a cool adventure for the kids. Also lovely to have a family adventure to talk about in years to come. If we did manage to stay then brilliant. If not then home (id rent the house out) save and maybe do America or somewhere else in a few years. Just need to get there first. Thanks for your help
  2. What about the 187 regional? Is that not pr? To be honest 2 years out there with the kids would be an adventure for them. I'd just have to try my hardest (as I'm younger) to find a way. I'm a photographer here and was hoping to start a business there but not looked into it at all as yet. Just teying to find a way to get there first. It's a fab place isnt it x
  3. Looking for a sponsor for a floor finisher (have one but wrong postcode ) passed the English test already. Turning 45 in Jan so time is against us. We are a family of 4. Fits carpets, karndean, amtico, saftey flooring etc. Any help or leads would be amazing. Thanks so much
  4. They've given him a resit as they couodnt find his results. First time was fab and back dead quick, second time they lost them..hopefully third time lucky and he gets the results he needs. Hes had to take another day off work to do them but at least it's sorted now. Glad yours came back fast x
  5. He did one in november and results were back in 5 days (like we got told) but no one can give us an answer they just keep saying 48 hours. Hopefully we know soon as partner wasnt well when he took it so dont think we have the marks we need but cant book another test til we have results. Shame its just once a month where we live. Good luck on your test. He bought the revision stuff with 2 practise tests he said helped him. Hope you get what you need x
  6. Sorry everyone its a bit of a rant but has anyone had problems with the PTE?. My husband did it in november and had his resuts (not the ones we needed) in 5 days. He re did them on the 8th december. Still no results. He calls every 2 days as he keeps getting told he'll have them in 48 hours. Cant book another test as no results for this one. The man on the phone said they dont have a complaints department. The case file number is the same as the one we got on december the 18th and now hes just been told theres no time limit at all so could be when ever. Fed up as really need to see how he did. Only 4 people took it the same day (in newcastle) Aggghhhh why is getting to australia so hard. Anyway best open the wine and calm down lol. Never ever had customer service as bad as this. Makes me so mad. So happy for this forum as when i mention anything to family and friends they just ask when are we going. Then they moan about it. Think people think its so easy..you get a visa, pack your house and go live happily ever after..its so hard sorting the visa. I know it'll be worth it if we ever make it
  7. Sarah your a star Paul fits both hard floor and carpet. We had our own flooring business before but got rid of it when we came back from australia as the lease was up and I found out I was expecting number 2 so never renewed it. We went to have a look at work and house's before and I've been over about 5 times now. We both love it and no it's where we want to be but it's a bloody nightmare with my mammy brain trying to get my head round it all so I need someone that's delt with floor finisher's before. Thanks so much for the link. Good luck xxxx
  8. Hi my other half is also a floor finisher and some agents seem a bit stumped by it. Have you got a phone number or e mail address for must migrate, just googled them but got loads of results. Thanks so much Good luck with the house Tricia xx
  9. sent everything off the agent asked for and waiting on costs. Which agent did you go with in the end? I havent been on here much as I no it help me but it depresses me aswel. Hopefully hear off the agent this week and sign on the dotted line too. Just wish it was all started and we knew we stood a chance of going. Hope your ok xxxx
  10. Not a clue but keep us posted as it looks like we're in the same boat. Have they given you any idea for costs? We are gonna send CV off on monday then see what money we're looking at. Good luck Tricia
  11. Hi, we got intouch with Go Matilda and have to send a CV off to them so they can see what Paul need to do next and then give us some prices. Just doing Paul a CV as he's never had one as his name gets him jobs round here and he sub contracts to a firm and we have some of our old contracts from the shop to. Had to email everything over to my brother as he is a CV wiz, only thing is I did it yesterday and wanted it done by now. Did I mention I hate waiting for things, Poor Trev, he works full time and ha me on the phone telling him to hurry up. And he's doing it for nothing for me. I guess he shouldn't be so good at his job. Just hope Paul looks good enough at his that Go Matilda will take us on and Paul hasn't got to go on lots of courses to prove he can do the job he's been doing for 20 years. Good luck everyone xx
  12. Congrats. Only new on here but it's good t see a sucsess story. Guess your gonna have a busy few weeks then. Well done Tricia xx
  13. just waiting for agents to get back to us. Called go matilda yeasterday. Waiting for a call back, still not heard anything from the rest of them either. Mabey they dont want the business. You'd think they'd all return calls and emails to tell you how much money they want off you. Hate waiting for things, this visa lark will kill me. Good luck with the first of march. Bet your digging as much info as you can now are you? Be good xxx
  14. Australian NVQ kind of thing unless your hubby has any qualifications in flooring. Mine hasn't as they don't really do them here, he just served his time but now needs to prove he can do the job he's been doing for about 20 years. Does your hubby do Karndean and Amtico and saftey flooring and stuff? We went over to Australia about 2 years ago and went into the shops to ask about jobs. It seemed ok as he fits all of these. I got offered a job starting the next day because we had our own shop so I sold all the flooring and Paul fit it all. So i got offered a job in a shop and Paul got told they'd give him a few days. We were on holiday though so drank wine and came home expecting baba number 2. Sold the shop and tried to get sorted with visa's but Colbie had a dislocated hip so had to get her sorted with surgery and a cast. All good now though. Guess we had better hurry it all up though as it's all due to change again in July I think. I'll be on here tomorrow night, I'll pm you if I get anywhere with agents. Be good xxx
  15. Go matilda were another one we were looking at. Im sure we paid about £460 for them to take us on then it was money when they needed it for the next stage. I think the AQF came in around £1500 then medicals, police checks etc. Expensive do this moving lark but I no I need someone to keep me on the right track and tell me what to do. I'd stare at forms for ages then put them aside then have abit of a cry at how I don't understand what Im doing then have a glass of wine and forget about doing the forms that night. It'd go on til I was in my 60's then to old to go. Yep I'll pay someone to have the stress, well most of it x
