  1. Hi Amreen im not a great one to ask re the financial side. We bought here in 2009 an existing house that was approx 3 years old. The value of ours has risen with the average house market value. Our main reason for choosing here was the school and the proposed plans with the shops and medical centre. We love our street and the atmosphere around the community based estate. I know of others who have bought plots on the new developed parts near the soon to be through road linsell boulevard. The schools are zoned now and mine are starting secondary next year. Sorry not much info. Hope someone else can advise on the financial side. Anything else ask away xx
  2. Now now Kate let them meet me at least once and then they can avoid me forever... And anyhow I can always come and find ya!!!! So look out...
  3. When the Mornington meet is being held, there is a twilight market apparently the same day would love to visit that. ;o)
  4. If the weather is good...maybe. You never know when the Herbies are gonna make an appearance, would be good to take a gander at the market too.

  7. No, but have received the others, just a mere 155 to choose from, she is fab.
  8. Lol, yes you're so right the modelling can wait! (perhaps for someone younger) Geelong's a bit far me thinks. Will wait and see what response I get, reckon this avatar will scare off the weak!! ;O) x
  9. Thinking its time for a meet up, anyone agree????
  10. Wow good news, will fly by now. xx:jiggy:
  11. I'm not really sure on those areas, but sure someone will be able to advise. Areas near me that i wouldnt live are Hampton Park, Hallam, Narre warren or Dandenong. but they are more inland.
  12. Of course that is possible however not sure where that would be, we are in Cranbourne east and bought our 4 bed plus study, 2 years ago for $350, it is now valued around $430ish, so the increase in prices has been amazing, however rumours have it that it is steadying and may even reduce slightly so thats good news for you. Take a look on www.realestate.com.au and check out what you can get for your $400, other nice areas around here are Berwick which I think a slightly more pricey or some areas of narre warren south are nice. But you couldnt even consider before visiting as every persons views and wishes are different. Nearer the coast are vastly more expensive and more inland, pakenham you get more house and land for your money but are further away from city and beach. We are now heading into autumn and the clocks went back at the weekend, so the nights are drawing in faster and can be a lil chilly, saying that today has been a beautiful 22 degrees and lil sunburn all round!! lol. We have learnt in melbourne to take each day as it comes as it really can be 4 seasons in 1 day. x
  13. Have added you, seems like you already know some of our rellies!! lol Now then weather!! to be honest we feel a lil chilly in Autumn and are cold in winter, however we have acclimatised, but saying that I think we were still cold when we 1st arrived! We actually like the 4 seasons and wouldn't suit the hot hot all the time with humidity, as now in the summer the girls complain its too hot to play outside as we cant be at the beach all the time!! Also what with the natural disasters we feel we are in the right place. In winter i have worn a body warmer and scarf, but never a full coat and gloves etc!! Obviously we wear our full clobber up the snowy mountains in winter when sking and sledging which is only 2 hours away, so we leave around 5ish and come home late giving us a full day on the slopes, Amazing!! With regards to good suburbs, there are many. Really depends on how far youd like to be from the city, coast and work and what your budget will be? trudes x
  14. Feel free to keep in touch, you can also add on facebook if you like to keep updated and a few piccies, where abouts are you? we were at shrub end, but dont hold that against us!! x:laugh:
  15. Don't worry about the qustions, keep em coming and will try and help as much as poss. x We didnt use any agents to obtain the visa but we did use MOVING TO MELBOURNE as a package who collected us from the airport, supplied the rental house, car loan, internet, invaluable info and fantastic service, (Does that sound good enough Kate x ) But honestly, having a contact at the airport when landing and seeing a friendly face even tho we had never met was invaluable for us. Peace of mind if you like. From when we obtained the visa, for approx 9 months before we actually left, I was subscribed to the jobs and careers email alerts and advised them all of our skills and arrival dates, it made an initial contact and even secured a couple of interviews, the remainder said contact on arrival which we did and in our 1st week of arriving I'd arranged approx 6 interviews for my OH, forgot to mention we came on the skills permanent residency visa, seems so long ago I cant remember the number!! lol The house supplied by Kate was a 4 week furnished rental, supplying everything you would need, in that time we searched for a normal rental and sgned up for 12 months. After 2 months couldnt stand paying rent and wanted my own nest to settle into, thats when we decided to buy! Our girls were 8 when we moved and altho school was of high importance, compared to the schools where we were they were all an improvement! They seemed to settle the best to begin with, straight into school where they were friendly and accepting. OH also settled because of work and getting back to normal. I was adament to be a lady that lunches, however that only lasted 6 months until money was tight and boredom set in so I now work 3 days a week and lunch and zumba the other 2! Words of wisdom, still doesnt feel real now!!! Sometimes we sit as normal in the evening and think 'Good god are we really on the other side of the world?' Trudes x:jiggy:
