  1. We live in the Hinterland at Beerwah.... it's brilliant, we have the mountains, the bush, less traffic than the coast and we are only 25 minutes from the beaches and big shopping centres on the coast.
  2. I have one I no longer need, but I'm in Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast
  3. Where are you going to be living? How old are you? There are plenty of leagues that play Friday and Saturday. I think some of the churches leagues play on Sunday. Depends where you are living
  4. We recently bought a business, it came with 2 utes that we don't need. 1999 rodeo ute $3250.00 and a 2005 ford courier 4 x4 dual cab, $9250. Caloundra area.
  5. A new venture forces the sale of this iconic Sunshine Coast business. Established 40 years, long serving employee, only 4 day week if you want. Easy to run. Priced to sell. Contract has just crashed so we are selling for well below market value. PM me for more details. Please do not contact me if you have not yet got a visa. Thanks
  6. How come it's all coming out now then, now then, now then!!!

  10. dont think there would be much point mate if you're living on the Gold Coast, you'd soon get sick of the drive
  11. Maybe you could, its very easy to run and the lady that does the manufacturing will stay on or train you or your missus up to take over from her, she has been with this company 15yrs. i'm selling at a very reasonable price too, minimum investment.
  12. Hi Scottie, things are good mate. The business did the required turnover and we were granted PR just before xmas last yr. A lot of messing and red tape tho, they dont make it easy. Think i'll sell up now and do something else....like go golfing...lol
  13. Last week the exchange rate was around 1.6 to the pound, the £ has been falling slowly, even with all the bad news on the economy here and in china but after the RBA rate drop today it started dropping quite fast and is around 1.57 now. Things seem to be going in reverse, bad news from Oz strengthening the dollar!!!! It baffles me!!
  14. Can someone please explain to me why the pound is plummeting when interest rates have been cut

    Drugs

The problem is, its bloody expensive.......lol.....seriously, i have been told that drugs like cocaine and speed are like 4-5 times the cost of the same drugs in UK, it baffles me how people can form a habit!! Must be on bloody good wages, or robbing a lot of houses!
  16. I now have the business up for sale with an agent, click here for details http://www.bizbrokers.com.au/advert.php?reference_num=4121 Lifestyle Business!!!!!!!! Please do not ask for details if you have not yet applied for a visa or not planning to emigrate within the next 6 months. Thanks Paul
  17. Thats where the problem lies....i could always get the agent to pick the mail up and send it on. This week i remembered we had kept a bank account with Alliance + Leicester (now santander) open. I sent them an email after logging on to the account. They have told me to complete a change of address form, send off i.d and have provisionally opened us an eSaver account.....so far so good!!!
  18. Thanks Pintpot, i do still have a house in the UK but its rented out and pin numbers and mail for a new account would go there. I suppose i could get the agent to post on any mail if all else fails.
  19. Does anyone know of a higher interest account i can open in the UK whilst i am living in Australia? I have just sold a block of land in UK. The money is sitting in my UK business account. I don't want to bring it over here yet, for obvious reasons and would like to get some decent interest on it (more than the 1 percent its getting) I have tried to open accounts online but the majority of them say you have to be a UK resident!!! Anyone got any ideas? Paul
  20. So the croc stripped her clothes off before he ate her...wow!!!!!!
  21. agent should take out an amount for tax (non-exempt overseas landlords) not sure how much as our agent doesn't deduct it because i still have an accountant in UK. Paul
  22. We got PR in december last year, we had already been here 3 1/2 yrs. We have been told we can apply for citizenship after another 12 months? Dont know if this helps much! Paul
  23. Apparently, Beerwah is supposed to be the next boom town. The population has doubled in the past 5 years. Aldi opened up in June last year. There is also a new shopping centre planned shortly, with other big name stores like Target. We live about 4ks from the town centre, 1/2 acre on a nice, quiet estate, only 80 houses planned all on minimum 1/2 acre. Paul
