  1. That's exactly why I pointed it out. I doubt a full and accurate survey has been done on the subject. I have met 2 families that have gone from uk to oz back to UK and back to oz. Stating how much money they wasted finding out the UK was not what they remembered. From the show I watched no figures were given but a large 'percentage' did this.i remember one of the first poms I met in oz while viewing a rental property. The wife showed me around the house telling me why they were going back. She wanted to stay and so did the kids, the husband wanted to back. He couldn't find the job he wanted and couldn't make friends. He kept out the way during the viewing. Doesn't matter which way you are going, but you have to be sure once you make the move no matter how hard it is you have to make it work. Especially with kids and separated parents. 2. Well the title of the forum I am posting in is about making the move back to the UK after 27 years in oz. So therefore I would recommend a non permanent look around the UK first before making a final decision. Call it an extended holiday. I did that in 2005 before making the permanent move in 2007. UK was great in 2014 for a holiday. Australia has worked very well for me. The mother of my children passed away in February and one of the first things I did was apply for citizenship for the kids. I happy to say that was granted last week. I am happy I have given them the choice to live where they want when they are older. I would recommend the same to them. Go look for yourself first. 3. I wouldn't recommend anyone moves to another country permanently without first doing a recce. The longer you can do that for the better you can judge for yourself. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  4. I think it was the poms in Oz TV show. I have met two couples that came back to oz after regretting the move. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  5. I read most people that return to pomgolia regret it and a large percentage then return to Australia again Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  6. Arrived in 2007 in Brisbane with never been here before, no friends or relatives, no jobs, sold everything in the Uk, stayed in a holiday camp cabin etc etc. Still here
  7. I require someone to advise on an inheritance that covers pension in the uk and super in Australia, sale of a house (Australia) and tax on all that income. I live on the Gold Coast and my first choice would be someone local, but i am prepared to deal with someone further afield that has the skills needed. Can anyone recommend an accountant or financial adviser?

  9. I did a month recce in perth and loved it, got visa and arrived in brisbane hated brisbane and moved to the gold coast after 2 weeks that was 5k years ago and in that time I rarely goto brisbane.
  10. Just moved from benowa to molendinar, schools vary from area to area. Enrolled my kids at benowa it has a good rep, which area you like depends on work and travel, whether you like new our old housing. In general the area its good. Crime is average, avoid upper coomera and surrounding areas they have a bad press at the moment. I like more modern housing, my price range was $450,000, found myself looking at Gilston, molendinar and pacific pines.
  11. Stats show that most people moving back to the uk regret doing so. Personally I have met several families that moved back to the uk for the things they missed only to move to oz again.
  12. Just need a couple of jobs done, new fan to replace light in lounge and new light in garage. Do you know a good s parky and what do they charge? I live in molendinar.
  13. Do you pay stamp if your a 1st time buyer? I know you get a grant, but some websites say you don't pay stamp and some day you do!
