Maybe not 120, but yes, I would expect a longer life. Look at Indians living in India compared with Indians living in the UK. The life expectancy is much longer for Indians in the UK. Even longer than white Scottish people. Your beliefs are very worrying parley, and it is very sad that people still cling on to them in this day and age. I'm embarrassed for you.

Yep, when eugenics was picked up by the Nazis, that was not ok.

    Visa Specialist Recommendations?

I would get the ball rolling with the skills assessment with ANMAC. Be mindful for registration with AHPRA, you have to present in person within 3 months to complete the registration process after they have given you registration in principle. As a recruiter - a person who already has a valid visa is viewed more positively in the recruitment process if they are looking for someone to start quickly.

Why not? Studies of the reverse situation - Japanese moving to the US and adopting a US diet - have revealed that they much higher incidence of diseases like type 2 diabetes, and a shorter life span than Japanese staying in Japan. So there is no reason why an Australian indigenous baby moving to Japan and adopting a Japanese diet and lifestyle couldn't achieve typical Japanese longevity.

Time outside Australia after validating their visas does count towards citizenship as you are allowed 12 months outside of Australia. Example. Validate visa on 1st Jan 2019, return to UK and spend 18 months away before returning on 1st June 2020. If no more holidays outside Australia they will qualify for citizenship on the 2nd June 2023, three years after returning. Looking back 5 years from that point they will have satisfied the requirements. Any additional holidays will push the qualifying date out correspondingly as you are allowed a maximum of 1 year outside Aus after first entry. This was the case for us as we validated, went home then came to settle later. You also need to be aware that these are the CURRENT rules as as we know things can change. They also need to be aware of the travel rights on the visa which only last 5 years from grant, after that to re enter Aus they will need an RRV or citizenship.

@Dip I have done my application by myself - do you know if it makes a difference? I have submitted all the documents.

    Suggestions please and update

There is an article in the UK newspaper of changes to tax changes for landlords from April 2020. Don’t know any more than that, so suggest everyone finds out what the new tax implications are, and how it will affect them.

    Skilled visa changes??

You would be surprised how many do. They want to migrate but are scared to move without a job, or they can’t afford to pay the relocation costs, so they see the temp visa as a way to get around that - which they often live to regret

I thought I had already answered this. If you bring it as a lump sum, you will lose a huge chunk in tax. Australia doesn’t tax it, but the Inland Revenue will. I looked into it and the only sensible option was to convert it as a pension. Again, it won’t be taxed by Australia. You’ll have to declare it as income on your UK tax return and if you earn more than the tax free threshold, you’ll be taxed on it. However I think the tax rate on pensions is slightly lower than the tax on salaries.

Congrats @RjayD ! Always nice as well to see at least a data point for offshore, and a nice timeline for you as well. I'm also offshore, but Chemical Engineer and a couple of days after you. Will wait and watch....

    Think outside the (city) box

This is my 56th year in Australia and in that time, have only spent about 2 years in cities, And I have lived a full and very happy life in the Kimberley and Pilbara Regions in WA, New England in NSW and retirement in theWhitsunday Region. Cheers, Bobj.

    We recognise the traditional owners....

So you believe there are no physiological differences between races. Presumably you believe that if an Aboriginal baby was adopted by a Japanese couple and lived its life in Japan it would live to 120.
