Buying a home - added costs on top of the purchase price

Hey all, Can anyone share their experiences on new Home Loans / mortgages in Oz. I am lucky enough to have been granted a PR visa, and head over to oz in September. We have property here, on a buy to let and another on permission to let. When we visited Oz a few years back, we saw a mortgage advisor, and they said ' don't mention your uk property, as it will complicate things. The mortgage and rent all comes from the same uk account so would in effect be invisible. Does anyone have any first hand experience on this? We were also thinking of taking out personal loan in UK prior to leaving, so if we need it, can be a deposit for new property in Oz - would Oz be able to see these monies if we did not disclose their source? we have excellent credit history here, but understand that starts again in oz, just wondering to what extent? -

Try not to overly worry, I had no contact with my CO, apart from initial email...if they need anything further from you, they will let you know - no contact, no prompts and mine came through as they had advised just before the 9 month stage....keep an eye on peoples timeline on here - it will give you the best idea re current processing times. Any day now mate for you I am sure - all the waiting is forgotten in a flash.....quick note, you will get an email saying 309 first, don't panic, next email comes just behind with the 100.

Will be 9 years in May...but until you have actually been granted you always have some doubt....I suppose its to protect yourself in-case of worst case scenario. This forum has been a God send, once you get your head around the fact that the visas are pretty much granted in sequence, it becomes much more bearable.... good luck to you and thank you for your kind wishes.

YOU LITTLE RIPPER!!! a week short of 9 months.... 309, swiftly followed by the 100.....the relief is astounding! Now countdown till we leave, given ourselves 6 months from now, time to organise haulage, consent to let and our little cat Archie Boy! All the best to everyone on here, have faith, it will happen....and it feels amazing!

Can anyone recommend a good value haulage company please - need shared use of 20ft container (500 cubf) - London to Mildura. Also in your experience are you able to get the initial quotes down? Thanks in advance.

Oh dear that's a bit of a worry. I did not email them my police check but simply added it to my online submission documents once it was completed - can anyone advise if this is the right thing to do - or should I have emailed it to them separately also?

Hey all, Quick question re travelling. I have my medical booked in for this Friday - all good, should be last step before the final waiting game. I have a big birthday coming up in January and I was thinking of going to Egypt - however a little concerned that this may be an issue with regards to the Ebola outbreak - I know its not there however I would hate to compromise this whole application, just for a few weeks of sun - gonna be getting enough sun soon enough - fingers and everything else crossed ...do you think Thailand would be a better option - or would it be a good idea not to travel anywhere exotic as all holiday destinations have already been listed on application??? Am I worrying over nothing?

Just received an email re my our application......If it been a snake it would have bitten me! Missed it on the 1-07-14 - only lodged on 8-06 so was not expecting quite so soon. Case office WP - need to book medical and police check for 08-09 onwards. Did not specify whether being considered for temp or permanent - been with partner for 8 years - so sent a quick email through the immi website to see. They have not asked for any further information at this stage.....tiny step but feels cool to be a file on someone's desk, instead of in my head .....it starting to fell quite real #aussiehereicomebigsmile

Hey all, So after years of talking about it, myself and my Aussie partner have lodged our application. We have been together 8 years, living in London - but now we are hoping to head back to country Melbourne - Mildura, to be close to his family. Submitted full application online (apart from police checks and medical) 08-06-14 - paid same day - attached the full 60 documents allowed , including loan agreements and mortgage doc's....and now the wait starts......... I read somewhere that the immigration visa year runs to the end of June - not sure if this will have any impact on the processing times.....So happy to have found this forum, hearing others good news makes the 8-9 month processing time just about bearable.....will keep all posted....good luck all.
