Tarneit is an affordable, burgeoning suburb with modern households. It was a rural tract until relatively recently. Now you can find a number of designer housing estates in Tarneit, and most of the homes are spacious and contemporary reinterpretations of the classic family version. The average price of a four bedroom property is around $55,000 on sale and about $300 per week on rent. Renting is cheaper than buying but then you need to consider that there are restrictions on pets, short term leasing etc. At the same time, buying a home involves larger payments, repairs and land rates.

Still, Tarneit’s affordability makes it a popular choice for families of all ages and stages, including teenagers, young families, maturing couples and even empty nesters. It’s close to all the convenience of Werribee and Hoppers Crossing, and an easy drive to the bay.

You always have the freedom to go for a relaxing walk to the nearby parks or blocks but if you fancy going for a longer outing, you can visit the Wyndham Village Shopping Centre on Sayers Road or the Hogan’s Corner for all your day-to-day needs, or you can head to nearby Werribee Plaza for more extensive retail, cafe and cinema options. Other smaller outlets are located in Tarneit Gardens and Tarneit Central Shopping Centre. Some of the common outlets are TAB, Chemist Warehouse, Subway, Bakers Delight, Aldi, Coles and Woolworths.

Tarneit has a broad bus and train network and long bike trails. There are four main stations including Tarneit Station for regional connections and Werribee Station, Hoppers Crossing, Williams Landing for metropolitan routes. Night coaches are run separately. They are easily accessible and help in reaching the schools, libraries, shopping malls, beaches and stations within minutes.
