Lynbrook is a picturesque estate set around lakes and the old river red gums trees and is a community that delivers numerous housing choices.
It is a very popular up and coming suburb South East of Melbourne, approximately 40km from the city.

The main access to the city is by the Monash Freeway to the North, and the South Gippsland Hwy from the South.
Lynbrook is a relatively new suburb that encroached over parts of Lyndhurst. It was developed in 1994 and it is expanding rapidly. In 2005 there were 1,750 households, approximately 5,200 residents and a total area of 1.85 square kilometres. In 2016 this had grown to 8519 residents

    Education
The first primary school opened in January 2005 which was named Lynbrook Primary. They opened with an initial enrolment of 175 students. In 2008 they had 550 students and in 2016 this had grown to 987.
The school has the reputation of being one of the best government schools in the area.

Catholic primary school, St Francis de Sales Primary School, opened their doors in 2010 on the corner of Aylmer Rd and Henning Avenue. 386 students were enrolled in 2016. Although the school has a slightly better reputation, there is a charge.

Lynbrook is in the catchment area for Lyndhurst Secondary College in Cranbourne with around 550 students in 2016. The school use to have a bad reputation for many years but this has improved over the last 12 years and at this present time is achieving better results than some of the private schools.

Other secondary schools you could look at are private ones such as, St Peters Catholic College.

If money is no object and you want your child to remain in the same school from prep until Year 12 then the best in the area, hands down is Waverley Christian College. The fees are not that outrageous for a school with such an excellent reputation. They are around $7,000 pa for prep up to just over $11,000 for Yr 12.

What a lot of Australians do is send their children to the government primary schools and then pay for private education once the child reaches Yr9/10.

A maternal and child health centre was opened in early 2006. This centre also includes a pre-school kindergarten. You will also find a good choice of Childcare Centres a short walk away.

    Parklands

Lynbrook is built around stunning and picturesque parklands called Banjo Paterson Park.  The Park has been built around a lake featuring numerous boardwalks and cycling paths which are often used by morning joggers. When the weekend comes the Park is busy with families enjoying the barbecue areas and the large children's playground. You could even watch a game of football or head to the cricket oval. The oval was the old home of the Lynbrook Lakers who can now be found adjoining Lynbrook Primary School with first class facilities.

Plans had been underway for a number of years to  open a new train station in Lynbrook between 2004 to 2012.
This finally went ahead with construction starting in 2010 and Lynbrook/Lyndhurst station was officially opened in April 2012. The station features a bus interchange and taxi rank with long-term car parking on both sides of the railway line (Lynbrook/Lyndhurst) plus short-term (kiss and ride) parking. There are approximately 250 spaces available with scope to expand the car parking as demand increases
    • timetable and passenger information displays
    • closed circuit camera surveillance and emergency telephones
    • covered walkways, ramps and stairs
    • bicycle facilities.
Pedestrian and bicycle access to the platforms is provided via the existing underpass between Lynbrook and Lyndhurst.

The station is on the Cranbourne line with the next nearest train station at Merinda Park 4km away and the last stop on the line following which is Cranbourne.
Lynbrook has two main bus stops one on Lynbrook Boulevard and the other on Henry Lawson Drive.
