Bluddy spiders!!! I am getting used to the moths n mozzies and even the cane toads the red bugs on our lawn and everything else creepy crawlie but No way am I ever gonna get used to spiders!!! I just cant...

it's a funnel web by the look of it. or a trap door spider. not very nice. you shouldn't carry it out on a bit of card! you mad! use a broom next time incase it runs at you and keep your house free from food and junk and you won't see anything.

definitely looks like a funnel web - Got the hairs sticking up on the back of my neck. Don't think that'll ever go away when I see these beasties.
If we get to oz I can imagine my son carrying all sorts of beasties INTO the house. Niiiiice !!

Think it's a trap door (classed as friendly or low risk) - take a look at www.mandmpest.com.au and get a print off page of spiders for info - I have one hanging up so when I see a spider I can identify it before panicking! Luckily WA doesn't have the funnel web - apparently just Sydney-side.

thanks for that have just printed the chart and is now on fridge for the next time we see a spider at least now we will know whether to run or not lol
