hiya, welcome to pio!
well for us it was mixed feelings, first of all it was very upsetting saying goodbye to family etc, but on the other hand we were excited that we were starting a new life!
my 2 boys settled into school very easy, and the oz kids seem more friendly, so i think you will be fine and will have loads of new friends before you know it!!

goodluck to you!

sheena

We have been in Brisbane a month, kids have been in school for 2 weeks due to the hoildays. The move across was great, we took a month off visiting all our relatives and having parties!! Arrived a stone heavier than i should be but that soon comes off. The Kids all have better social lifes than the grown ups, loads of mates already. The oldest boy at 16 loves the sport, my daughter at 11 just likes to hang out with her mates and my youngest at 6 can play outside all day. The working hours are the same, but my commute to work is longer as everything here is a car journey away. It was an adventure, especially when the 5* hotel in Malaysia on our 2 day stop over messed up our booking, they had to upgrade us to penthouse suites!!!! Blimey how i wish i could afford to live like that normally. We bought phone cards $10 on our arrival and you get cheap rates back to the UK, so everybody can phone home as much as the want at 1c a minute. Also facebook and msn messenger have been a god send.

Wink hi cupckae

Its kinda exicting 2 move coz when u think of it u say o my god ur movin 2 oz and then the next minuet ur mike begging ur parents not to go. Like me kinda... i wanna go but i dont wanna go its a 50 50 situation i think that it will be a better life out there but then again on the ofter side leaving friends and family its hard 2 let them go..
couple of questions...How old are u? Where r u moving 2 and Have u got msn?
hm.. advice i ahvent got much but here are some if u dont wanna go:

1) Beg ur parents not 2 go.
2)keep ur room messy and dont clean it until ur parnts get really mad.

try 2 do taht it might work :P

Emma

(P.S. i hope when and if u move 2 make a lot of friends)

Heya cupcake,
My Name is Natalie and i am 12 yrs old.
Our family has been trying to move since mabye 2 months ago, and now my dad is in Australia and has already started work! x
I know it feels scary at first thinking about the whole " Making new friends " thing and all the creepy crawly's and all that but i have been told by a friend that the feeling wont actually sink in until when you get on the plane!! x
And about leaving your friends, well if you have good friends then you wont actualy be leaving them because they should stay in touch with you if they are good friends!
My whole tutor organised a parT at lunch time to say good bye to me!
We already have our flights booked and and the movers vanis coming soon but i still cant actually belive it!!! x
And what i said about eirlier about making new friends, well that is what this fourm is about!.. Making friends.
I hope this helps and we can become friends? x
Love Natalie x-x-x-x-x-x-x
