Hi
Okay you ready for this................. you can obtain a learners permit at the age of 16 and begin lessons. They have a 'graduated' driver training and licensing system here. You first need to get a learners permit (if you're under 18 you'll need your parents permission) to get this L permit you have to pass a computerised theory test, then have an eyesight test.once you've got your learners permit you can have lessons with an instructor or 'qualified' supervisor. At 16 yrs and 6 months you can then take a practical test, once that is passed you then have to log up a minimum of 25 hours driving under supervision (you have to fill in a log book) Then you have a hazrd perception test on or after your 17th birthday then if thats all passed okay you get your 'p' plates which you have on for 2 years but you are allowed to drive unsupervised and on all roads! When you get here if you go to any licensing centre they'll give you a handbook which tells you all about the highway code here and all the different permits/laws etc...
