Question Telling Friends!

Hi,

I'm Ellie, I am 13.

I have told my friends that we are planning to move, however, they don't no the exact date of when we are moving.

When is the best time to tell them? ASAP or a couple of weeks before we actually leave the UK?

Love Ellie
xXxXx

Hi Ellie

This is a really hard one as you are probably really excited and want to tell everyone that you are moving

If I were you and couldnt help myself but want to say something I would just tell them that your family are making plans to possibly move to Australia in the future at some time.

my sons had no probs with their friends when they told them but my niece did have a few problems were she was being left out abit as people thought she was moving away anyway.

Talk to your Mum and see what she thinks is best

Good luck with the move, you will love it ! x

My daughter told her friends when she knew the exact date she was going to be leaving. We organised a farewell party for her with her mates and she had a brilliant time (as this was xmas we did it as they left school - so it was about 3 weeks before we left the UK). My daughter is still in touch with her 'best mates' and she still thinks of them as her friends even though she has made new ones - the people who are important to you will make a big effort to keep in touch.

Ali

As soon as i knew when i was leaving i told my friends the date but they kept on forgetting.
We just carried on as usual as though i wasn't leaving and everything went really well.

Telling them a couple of weeks before you leave might not be best as they can't have a really good farewell party for you.
If you don't tell them they will start to ask when over and over again.

Wink What i think

Hi im Rosie and i am 11 yrs old
i found it really hard telling my friends about moving to Australia but my sister, Aimee (birda) told them herself without even telling me (cheeky little thing) they don't know the exact date we are moving either, i think the best thing to do is to tell them closer the time that you are moving so they are not upset for ages until you go and also im worried that my friends will stop hanging around me if they know im going to leave them. It's not my decision what you do but i'm going to tell my friends nearer the time, good luck,
Rosie:-)
