Me And My family Are thinking About Moving to Adelaide....

Is it Nice? I Haven't Been Yet :( And Is It Scary Strating A new School?

Hi Abbiee,

I moved from the UK when i was 16, my family decided to move to New Zealand.

Although i was scared witless about moving to a totally different country and leaving family and friends, it was the best thing my parents ever did.

My life was so much better after i moved, people were really friendly. I was extremely shy and my first day of school was a real scary day for me but i don't know why i worried, it was fantastic, people were really friendly and made me feel welcome. It takes a bit to adjust to a new way of life but once you get there and settle down you will realise what a great thing it was to move.

Plus there are so many ways to keep in touch with your friends, email, letters, phone etc. I thought i would loose my school friends when i moved but i couldn't be more wrong, we were in constan contact and always have been since.

Don't worry and don't be scared, its the best country ever Australia.

I haven't been to Adelaide but we came to Perth in January 07 - my daughter was 11 then and was scared too, but now she says she doesn't know what she was bothered about. She's a quiet girl but made friends very easily and quickly .. you're never the new girl for very long and she said that people were really friendly.

same, we've got the visa and we're going to be moving to Adalaide sometime next year. I reallyyyy don't want to go, leaving all my friends and family behind, having to start a whole new school all over again D: eeek!
I haven't been to Adalaide though, i've heard it's a really nice city and good for shopping ;)
