Hiya!

i'm afraid i don't know about perth, but i just wanted to say that although it is completely understandable that you are scared about making new friends (we all are!!) i think you will find it suprisingly easy to make new friends!

When i was your age (only 12 years ago!) a new person at school was always very popular because everyone was interested in them! Especially because you are from another country! Also, the teachers will probably ask a few other kids to look after you at first, which will imediatly set you up with some new friends - even if they don't end up being your best friends.

Also, i would be thinking how exciting it will be, you can completely re-invent yourself!!! No-one in your new school will know you, so you can start a fresh! I expect a lot of kids would like another chance of making a first impression!!

Good luck hunny! It will be difficult at times, but i expect you will never look back!!

meg
xx

Hi Harrison

Love your avatar!

I'm sorry I can't help with your questions about Perth because we're not in Australia yet.

My son (Mophead, you may have seen some of his questions on the Younger Ones forum) is the same age as you and he is worried about all the same things as you.

We have some friends who moved to Perth and they love it, their daughter is 12 and she is never in the house, she's always out and about with her new friends. They've only been there since last October but they soon made new mates.

Good luck with your move to Australia, I'm sure you will be happy there.

Mrs Tyke.

Hi Harrison

We have some friends in Brisbane as well, LOL! And in Sydney, too. They all have kids around your age who worried about the move, and all of them are fine now, I'm happy to say!

But we may not end up living very near to them because it is such a big place, and alot depends on where we need to live for work.

It 's nice to think that we know someone there before we go, but we will have to make some new friends as well, just like you and your family.

My son is hoping to join lots of clubs, surfing, climbing, that kind of thing as it will help him to meet new people. If you want to PM him, I'm sure he would be happy to hear from you.

His username is Mophead.

Hoping that you feel a bit less worried now,

Mrs Tyke

I went to pick a friends son back from school as he was sick. (he's not an Aussie)
The Kids where all wishing him well and were very pleasant. I even got mistaken for his brother. (Only 25 years between us)
Alot depends on you but they are not so diffrent to the English. If they give you a hard time laugh and give them a little back. First of all let them win and once you have your foot in the door you'll be fine.

never let them tell you it's Soccer. It's Football

Good luck mate

John
