I am taking my son who is 13 will be 14 by the time we get to VIC in Jul 09. Unfortunately his dad lives here and he sees him every weekend but he wants to come with us to Oz but is worried abut his dad.
We told his dad yesterday he was very quiet but didnt cause a scene, I get on with his dad very well we all do and I did get upset yesterday.
I would like to hear from anyone going through this good or bad younger or older ...

HI I HAVE A STEP SON WHO IS LEAVING A MUM BEHIND, HE DOESNT SEEM THAT BOTHERED AS HE DOESNT GO MUCH TO HER, AND ALL SHE SAID WHEN WE ASKED HER TO SIGN THE DEC WAS WHEN DO I GET MY COMPUTER??? SHANT SAY MUCH BUT NOT MUCH OF A MOTHER.........
BUT WOULD OF THOUGHT IT WOULD BE HARD FOR WHOEVER YOUNG OR OLD LEAVING A PARENT BEHIND.

True I am leaving my mum and dad behind to lol didint think of that, my son dosent want to live with his dad they have ups and downs eg son broke collar one dad didnt come to see him . I just ope he signs and dosent ruin my sons future.
Can I ask did you have to go to court or did she agree it through a sol and do you have to provide contact for the mother..
No not much of a mother at all sounds like you are doing her a favour and theres me getting upset telling his dad...

well my stepson is nearly 16 and his mum did say that she couldnt stop him going soon and he lived with us anyway.
but we typed a letter up and she signed it if you need a copy of the letter i will send you what we wrote in it. we thought there would be more hassle but thankfully there wasnt just be nice to him until hes signed lol
i would mention if he doesnt sign that you are prepared to go to court and make out that if you win he will have to pay your costs aswell.
and yes he is better with us a couple of weekends ago she told him he couldnt come for the weekend as the food they had was for them she doesnt get money for darren lol honestly......
and then when he went last weekend he got told by her that he wasnt allowed to go into the cupboards all he had on sat was one bag of crisps i went and got him
she smokes,drinks and just thinks of herself i never have liked her...........

hey guys, my mom left me in the uk when i was 12 to go to melbourne, she gave my sister and i the choice and she chose to go, i chose to stay. i have to say it was truly the worst thing that has ever happened to me and is impossible to comprehend at that age. Im now planning to move over there to be closer to my mom as i have missed her so much, but i will never be able to be near both of my parents at once. its a horrible situation.
I was really shocked at the reaction I got from my ex..... He simply said " If your Mum thinks it'll be good for you, she knows best" That was the first time I felt like kissing him in over 10 years...............lol
My children wern't too crazy about the idea of moving to Oz at first but with this reaction from their Dad they have started to come round to the idea.
My ex has even hinted on coming over for a visit............In a hotel of course. he he

Eww April kissing ex's not good girl LOL, our agent gave us a form for my ex to complete and he had to get it witnessed, this went with the visa papers, he had no problem signing it, we get on okish so I was lucky as it wasnt an issue
