Hi Lucy
Great thoughtful post...............wish my 15yr old was as proactive as you lol! My Girl is in Year 10 and and I seriously have no qualms about taking her to Oz at this "crucial" time!!! Really does depend how you and your Parents look at it? I "believe" in OZ GCSE's don't really count for much (could be wrong though)BUT if you are like us and planning to stay then I don't consider that a problem BUT if you are only going for a short while then YES! GCSE's would be good! Because IF you come back to the UK they are the "be all & end all" to a productive future in the long term! Good luck with everything!

Hi Lucie,
My daughter is in the same pickle as yourself, she didnt know waht to do either, should she stay and do her GCSEs here or go to Oz and do theri exams. I think she is going to do the Oz exams now. I started a thread in general dilemas the other day and got a lot of useful replies take a look and see if it can help yo. Hope this helps you out a bit Lucie. xx

Hey
I was just about to start my GCSE's then we came to Australia, but my brother did his GCSE's and we found out they mean nothing out here, so he stayed to do Uni for another two years before we came out here. If he had come out, he would have gone into grade 11 and had to complete 11 and 12.
So it really depends how long your family are going to stick around in the UK for.

Hi Lucie, People on here are right GCSE's dont count for much in Australia. I emailed some school and was told that Year 10 was a good year to start in. One of my sons will be starting in year 10 and the other one will be starting in year 11.

Good luck
