Hi Kev's daughter,

We have 5 children, D17, A14, AA13, NJ10 & OJ6, we were asking questions like this recently, we hope to go Qld, asking our migration agent in Brisbane and she told us that High School starting age is 12/13, where as here in the UK it's 11/12 depending when your birthday falls, we are still researching the Qld Education Dept, but you only need to type in the state and add Education dept behind it and you should be able to find some more info... good luck

Pat & Janie

Hey!
In July I'll be starting Grade 10 in Australia, i left in grade 4. The schools are same as British ones, but most uniforms have a hat as compulsory, coz of the sunshine.
For School Years in Brisbane or rather the Queensland area -
Year 1: The year you turn 6
Year 2: The year you turn 7
Year 3: The year you turn 8
Year 4: The year you turn 9
Year 5: The year you turn 10
Year 6: The year you turn 11
Year 7: The year you turn 12
Year 8: The year you turn 13
Year 9: The year you turn 14
Year 10: The year you turn 15
Year 11: The year you turn 16
Year 12: The year you turn 17

Hope that helps!
