So what about Flies?

Hello everyone. I've been lurking around the forum for a while now reading up on Australia. I have two questions please:-

1. I absolutely hate flies.

How large and bad is the fly population of Australia
2. Is there any area which is better to be in for someone like me?

Arctica or Antarctica not many there mate

You get plenty of flies tbh you get used to em , some of the b***** yake a real liking to you , no seriousky its just one of those things , you just get used to em

Welcome to the site Lukio.
If you look at Oz as hot,hotter and hottest you will get to work out the place they will least be.
Melbourne maybe on the lower end of the scale as against Perth.
Anyone got any idea's as to the fly problem in the tropical parts?

Also, I see you've met our resident jokers.

There's no flies on them so where ever they are.................

well were perth and ive had a few dive bomb me but not as many as i thought, saying that its not hot hot yet ... but ive been eaten loads by mozzies !!

Sorry TACD I get my own persistent ones ,think they were either kirby vacuum salesman or double glazing bods in there other lifes

It aint far from here mate ,when the southern wind blows ,straight from there bit cold owd lad ,kills the flies tho lol, off threead talkin to ohs mams bloke 70 odd bit of a dont do it like that (harry enfield) , top bloke , told him havin a house built , make sure gardens south facing , nah i says north facing , after 30 mins gave up , hes funny tho

We have friends who emigrated to Perth. They told us where they live in the northern beach suburbs of Perth the flies can sometimes be horrendous.....to the point where you should be wearing a fly net on the beach. It is not the first time I have heard the comment that the flies are bad in Perth.

I have not noticed anything like that here in Brisbane so maybe it is a dry heat issue. Flies rarely bother me...can be annoying if you're eating outside sometimes but not really bad or anything extreme. Someone also mentioned previously that it can get bad in Melbourne when it is very hot and dry?
