Thers a lot of land sites north and south and a few inland. The building is different to the uk ,whereas the land is divided into blocks (plots) roads built ,street lighting etc. People then buy the blocks, and choose a builder to build on it for them. As in the uk Barrats or persimmon etc build all the houses on the estate . Theoretically a site of 100 blocks here could have 100 different building firms.

is there anyone who can help? i am a primary school teacher, my husband is a bricklayer. We have a 2 year old boy. We have applied to move to oz for a better life (especially for our son). based on our jobs and the fact that we will only be coming over with about £5000, would you say we have a chance of making it? we are planning to rent for 2 years. thanks

every body has a chance but as I said yesterday to darren I have noticed the work drying up and there was only one add in todays paper paying $240 per day I rang up and the subbie said he had set 8 brickies on but he had 120 calls and he said he might even drop the money $220 because of the ammount of calls he had, also rent is quite expensive plenty of sunshine though I hope this has answered a few questions for you
