Wink Redundancies in WA

The world is getting more expensive to live day by day, fuel, food etc, this we all know. In Australia this is also true as you have all been honest and have let people like us back in the UK know this.
In the UK in the furniture retail trade manufacturers/retailers are making people redundant, have any of you living in WA heard of any redundancies in what ever trade where you live.

The reason I ask this is I've read WA is constantly growing in business due to mining and migration and a few others, so although things are expensive job losses are not occurring as yet in WA.

I would be very interested to hear from you all.

Thanks in advance

I haven't heard of anything, and there is still shortages of nurses etc in WA. Shopping for example has become more expensive here though like everywhere and I would say it's cheap, particularly when you're earning $

We haven't heard of any redundancies either and we live two hours from the big smoke so guess it would hit country areas first. Cost of living we find similar to the UK, but saying that you get much better quality food/meet/veggies etc.

Fuel price is dropping weekly at the moment so that's great, currently $1.55 a litre but its more expensive down here compared to Perth, think Perth is $1.50 or maybe less as that's what is was last week when OH was up there.

Have to agree about the quality of the meat, which I think is superb. We're a bit luckier up this way in regards to petrol, I pass 4 petrol stations on the way to work and it's currenlty about $1.44 - $1.46
