We are moving to Perth at the beginning of Oct and currently looking for furnished accommodation for the first 4 weeks until we find our feet & a long term rental.
We have a 4yr old, looking for a property within easy reach of Perth centre. The max we are wanting to spend is $500 per week.
Have already visited aussimove & realestate websites, (not to mention a few others)
Any suggestions welcome.
A very stressed Cat!

Hi
Try www.holidaylettings.co.uk we booked with them when we arrived in March. We had a house in North Perth (Mulaloo) for the first 2 weeks then hired a home in Secret Harbour (South Perth) for 4 weeks this gave us plenty of time to secure a long term rental property. The houses were both lovely and well furnished

Thanks Mandy, we are now waiting for a reply on one through this website.
Would you recommend a short term let for 4wk or 6wk to find our feet?
Any other info welcome.
Thanks Mandy,
Cat

Hi Cat
Well 6 weeks was about right for us. The first couple of weeks were spent just getting over the flight and we wanted the kids to have a bit of a holiday so we stayed in Mullaloo in a place with a pool and we spent most of that fortnight chilling out.. However once that 2 weeks was over we got on with looking for a rental & looking at different areas & doing all the things we needed to do. We secured a rental (after looking at about 5 properties) whilst we had a week left on the holiday let but it worked out well as we were able to get furniture in to the rental over that final week and when we moved in the house was fairly sorted (in a chaotic kind of a way). You can pm me if you want any other info on anything.

Hi
We had a rental for 4 weeks then another for another 8 weeks trhro holidayletttings we moved because the latter weeks because the first was booked the second let, the landlady told us she needed 2 weeks notice so we secured a rental and moved a week before our furniture got there. The landlords gave us references which were very welcome

Hello folks.... how exciing is it now..lol.
Getting the rental you want is so importanty when u get here. We were lucky and used Emi-great. They rented a houise to us with a pool and looked after us when we got here. The rental is more than u want to spend but when u consider they pick u up from the airport when u land, give u a tour of the area the next day and have a selection of food waiting for u, it takes so much stress away from the innitial move.
We also hired a car from them which was sitting at he door for us and when were ready to buy a car they inspected it for us and made sure it was ok as they have a mechanics business aswell.
They have helped loads of families across here as they went thru the process themselfs a few year ago.
Deffinately worth the few extra dollars for the service you get from them They also help you meet up with other migrants which is a massive help.
Have a look at their site or even give them a call
All the best on your move..maybe bump into you when you arrive..lol
