Job offer in Perth

Hi

I've just been offered a job in Perth to commence work on the 1st october 08 and i was wondering which Visa to go for?

I have a young family and we need to be out there at the end of september at the latest so I would need a Visa ASAP. The company have given me an option of working for the duration of the Aussie summer for us to get a "feel" of the country and during this time apply for a permanent one while we are out there.

Any advice on the above appreciated.

Thanks

Anthony

Hi

Congratulations on your job offer.

There isnt very long to actually apply and be granted your visa if you need to be out there by the end of September.

Probably the quickest visa to go for is a 457 (temporary visa).

If anyone knows any different, im sure they will post on here.

I'd also suggest the 457 visa route as you won't get a skilled visa in 3 months

HI, I agree with the above posts - the 457 visa. It is quick and fairly hassle free, once you are here and decide to remain, you can apply for your permanent. You can apply for your permanent one after 3 months of being in the country. Please also check that the company who has employed you, is paying you an appropriate salary for the area.
