Perth Suburbs, good websites and advice, plse

Hi all you PIO'ers in Perth, Can anyone give me some good websites about the suburbs of Perth, or smaller community's about 1 hours commute to cbd.

At the moment I have been trying to looking at Rockingham, Morley and place called Secret Harbour but I think this might too far for commuting. Also from what I have read, they say the northern suburbs of Perth are better areas, is this true or not???

We are a family with two children aged 3 and 5, so naturally looking for a family orientated community/area. So any suggestions would be great.

I have been doing searches on google but can't come up with anything worth reading.

Thanks, Mandisfam

The mandurah train line is open now so commuting from Rockingham and mandurah is in less than an hour. I can't comment on the northern suburbs because I've never been to them, the reason we didn't choose to live nor was because at the time house prices south were slightly cheaper, and I'd been offerred a job in Armadale. I wouldn't personally chose to live in Armadale itself but the surrounding suburbs are like roylestone, byford mount nassura and mount richon are nice.

I live in Leeming, which is near bull creek, murdoch - about 20 mins from Freo which was a plus for us. Have you looked on Australia migration - suburb profiles, accommodation, schools, real estate, jobs in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Darwin and Hobart it gives you a list of the suburbs, map and also people post comments.

I didn't say anything about the beaches - as I said before I can't really comment on northern suburbs as I haven't been to any, everyone has differents tastes and needs and what one person will like another won't

ErmintrudeMcMoo will become famous soon enough
If you ask about NOR or SOR , people living in either area will always say theirs is best, we live in Port Kennedy, SOR, and are happy here, lovely beaches everything we need on the doorstep.Secret Harbour is quite nice and quite a few people commute by car & train from there to the city. As for millionaires row you will find plenty of million dollar houses in most beach suburbs, we have relatives who live in Bedfordale and it is lovely there big plots & more of a rural feel, my friend also lives in Kalamunda in the hills and it seems very nice there too, she is happy there anyway.
