House Sitting

Hi there

Just been granted VISAS - WOW!!!

Set on renting - but house sitting keeps coming up in conversations.

Has anyone tried this and can we please have your comments - good/bad!

We thought about it there is a web site sabatical homes where some are rental properties or house sits. or look at brisbane exchange.com.au this is local paper you can see if any house sit positions or post your own advert hope this helps

Hi, we are going to Perth on the 14th June and have a housesit organised in Rockingham for 6 weeks. We joined House Sitters & Sitting from Housecarers . and met the folk when we were out on holiday in January. In our case we are looking after their pets too but not all housesits require you to do this. It is an excellent way of having somewhere to live without forking out loads on rent and gives you time to look at what area you do want to move to permanently. I hadn't thought of this... great idea. I was looking at forking out on a holiday rental, but a few weeks housesitting, much better idea. Thanks juderay for the website and US$45 joining fee pales in comparison to the cost of a holiday rental.

I've only done it for a friend in the UK and I have to say it was great. I think it's a brilliant idea.

Why dont you try HappyHouseSit.info as it is a FREE online resource for connecting house and pet (dog & cat etc) sitters with people who need house sitting as it is a FEE-FREE online resource for connecting house and pet (dog & cat etc) sitters with people who need house sitting!

Hi Gary & Senga, my folks use Housesitters and House carers for their properties in WA and Tasmania. They have had some excellent sitters who have remained good friends and I now have an Australian couple sitting from Housecarers for me in London whilst I am off to Oz and NZ. On long term house sits Owners pay the rates, but the house sitter is expectd to pay for all other bills usually, police clearance certs/professional references are advisable to have to hand. Great way of seeing some of the country and meeting new people. Good Luck J

HI Bowbrummer - thanks for reply - better late than never - we been in perth now for neraly 10months have rented and now bought. Loving every minute - apart from the ****e weather in the last few days - but hey ho summer just round the corner.
