Anyone Emigrated from UK living in Baldivis ?

Hi there we busy going through the visa processs at the moment OH has a job in canningvale near Perth as a carpenter so getting a sponsered employers visa.
His employers seem very nice and are helpful they trying to give advise on areas to settle and we would like to be quite near the coast and fancy Rockingham area.

We have been offered a house to rent in Baldivis near Rockingham when we first arrive and are keen to hear from anyone from the uk who has emigrated and living in the Baldives area need to know what your thoughts are on schools and shopping and general info on settling in that area.

Thanks for your time

Sounds good mr & mrs edd any idea what the house prices were like then compared to other areas? How old are your children - was it a primary school you were looking at?

The company mentioned Settlers Hill too which looks like a posh estate in Baldivis??

Hi Donna,
Sorry dont know what house prices are to other areas but roughly $4000.00 will get a nice 4bed in settlers hill and for some reason prices are coming down.
we have two kids aged 9 and 4.Idont know if the area is posh because i havnt really seen any other areas yet we concentrated on settlers hill as we only had ten days.

Baldivis is semi rural, about 40km from Perth and by all accounts really nice (never been myself) Median house prices are $465 approx, it's near safety bay and waikiki

Settler's Hills has a website if you google it. From memory it did look a bit posh - kind of a community all of its own with common grounds and facilities. Lovely though, but we thought it quite a way out. Maybe not so far from Canning Vale.

Baldivis is just up the road from us and is very nice, my mate stayed there for the first few months before she moved nearer Rockingham. There is a small shopping centre which opened up a few months back, schools seem to be ok (well I haven`t heard anything bad about them).

Baldivis is a lovely area about ten minutes drive from the beaches of Rockingham, the old Baldivis is an older "village" with a primary school. However there are a couple of new estates being cleared at the moment as well as suburbs of Settlers Hills, Rivergums, The Chase & Tuart Ridge.

Settlers Hills has a primary school & there are also a couple of private schools in the area Tranby College being the most well known.

The Kwinana Freeway ends at Baldivis at the moment although they are extending at the moment to access to all areas of Perth is easy.

A new shopping centre has been built recently to service the area which has grown enormously in the past 5 years.

More info is on the following sites

Emi-Great - Home - Short Term Rental Accommodation for migrants emigrating from England to Rockingham, Mandurah, Port Kennedy, Warnbro and Perth

Baldivis, Western Australia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Baldivis North - where home is!

There are lots of lifestyle choices in the area & I am sure you would find something which would suit you.
