Hi Ali (or anyone that can help)

Sorry to be a pain - but may I just pick your brains once more? I am just filling in our state sponshorship forms and need to put the region we would like to live. I notice on the WA Gov website there are 9 regions, including Peel - is this the region that Leeming, Melville, Rockingham etc come under.

I have tried looking at a map but just can't tell.

Thanks once again

Denise

we are applying for a 176 state sponsorship visa and will shortly need to tell our agent which state we would be looking to move to.

It has always been between the Gold Coast (Queensland) and WA/Perth, but the Gold Coast seems to be winning hands down with the younger family members at the moment!!!!

I posted a thread on the Queensland Forum yesterday and got lots of good advice on good places to live on the Gold Coast.

However the question Perth or the Gold Coast has raised it's head once again!!!!!

With two young children, there are so many priorities to take in to consideration, but we will also need to know (assuming we're lucky enough to get through the process ) what the job prospects are like out there. Eammon is a carpenter which is on the MODL list but we were wondering if anyone could offer any information as to what might be the best areas around WA to consider taking all of this into consideration.

We're also under the impression that the cost of living and house prices are highter in WA than on the Gold Coast?
Grateful for any advice

Denise

Hey Denise

Sorry cant answer your query but I am going through the same thing as you....we had applied for course in Mel everything settled then bang what about Brisbane instead we have been trying to weigh up the difference and they are both sooo different...

We have decided Brisbane been driving myself mental looking for property schools etc it is more expensive than Vic but I think it will even itself out..

Good Luck on whatever you decide

Mandurah is in the peel region - Melville and Leeming are part of Perth Metro I was never too good at Geography lol

Look at Metropolitan Perth and Regional Western Australia - Peel Region

Thanks again Ali

I went into a panic a bit because I couldn't see Perth Metro on the priority skills list for WA after researching all of those areas over the weekend - I went back in to it today and there it was staring right back at me!!!!! First region on the list!!!!

Goodness knows what state I'm going to be in by the end of the process.

Denise ... I found that alot of aussie wine helped me through the process.... aussie beer helped Nigel put up with me going through the process .... he seemed to cope much better with wait than I did.

Hi Good luck with the results - let us know as soon as you hear.

I try not to think that far ahead yet about when we're hoping to move there, but can't help myself!!!! It would be nice to think it might be this time next year!!!!

Hi Ali

I'll give it a try (not that I really need an excuse!).

I know what you mean - Eammon is a lot more laid back about the process than me..... I just want it all to happen now!!

As soon as I get a form from our agents, I print it off and start filling it in immediately. I'm obsessed.
