Start up costs..allow 30,000 Aud, this well get you the second hand car (allow 10k) plus the furniture, white goods etc. A stated Ikea is here x 2 in Perth..and Rick Hart s also good, not to mention Good Guys (pay cash) and Harvey Norman. Retravision (as mentioned here is also very good and of course (maybe once you settle? The local weekly mag, the Quokka is superb...

How much money will a cheap 2nd hand car cost? How much will i need to live before i get my first salary cheque - which would be 6 weeks time?

Hi
Just a quick tip-when you buy your electrical stuff, white goods etc..if you get them all from the same store they will give you a decent discount. We bought a fridge, washer and tv from Rick Harts recently & they knocked $200 dollars off the combined price! We found Kmart good for plates, mugs, cutlery etc..too.

How much you need to live............... The Social Security rate is about $200 a week plus your rent so in theory that is how much you need to get by....................
