Help with rural areas of Perth

Hi everybody,

We are here in Sydney at the moment (we love it), going to fly across to Perth in a few days, can anyone let me know of any bad / good areas which are classed as rural ( i think anything with a postcode of above 6300)?

OH is going to change is HGV licence hopefully and hopefully find sponsorship so while there we would like to have a good look round. We are a family in our 30's with a little 7 year old girl.

Many thanks

Bunbury, which is 2 hours south of Perth is classed as a region, also been told Manduarah is as well which is about 1 hour south of Perth.

We live in Bunbury and its the second largest city in WA, and we absolutely love it down here - see our previous threads.

Take a look at the areas around Bunbury - Dalyellup, Australind, Treendale, Millbridge these are all newish housing estates and will give you a very good idea of life over here. We live in Dalyellup and it has a beach at the end of the estate and parks, bbq areas you know the form.....

Good luck in your recee

Sarah,

Many many thanks for your help!

We are in Perth now and think it is great, going to see a guy about changing Ian's HGV Licience & then will be looking around the areas you suggested.

Thank you again!

no worries we were in Perth over the weekend as my mum is down and showing her around - what was all that rain about!!!!! She thought she'd woken up in Wales again (home).

Glad you liked Perth, wait til you get down South its beautiful down here. Hope it all goes well for you and you find a great job and place to live.

I think Mandurah may not be considered regional any longer. However there are some lovely places in the Peel region which are considered regional

: 1AVIP.NET : San Remo Web Studio : Western Australia

Mandurah would be in reasonable driving distance of some of the smaller towns & is a fast growing City with everything you need in terms of services, shops etc.

If you travel south as far as Bunbury there are lots of smaller places with lovely beaches etc & opportunities for work.

Otherwise north of Perth I guess you would do ok in the Geraldton area but the drive to Perth is probably double the time from Bunbury
