White Goods

Hi Everyone,
We are potentially coming to live in Perth in the next year (had a job offer yesterday). Of course now we have loads of questions!! Apart from schools, areas to live etc.... a practical question. Can we bring our 'White Goods'? freezer, fridge washer, dryer etc......
I was worried about the power supply (I am not a electrican....hehehe)

Thanks

David and Family

Hi David - congratulations on the job offer. We brought our washer and our dryer, both have worked perfectly - they were in good condition and we thought that if we could get a bit more life out of them then it'd be a bit less cash to part with at the start of our adventure/new life down under. Our fridge and freezer were integrated and therefore we didn't have a choice about bringing them, but we probably wouldn't have brougth it - prices are reasonable here and we picked up an ex-display model for the garage as well. May be better to buy a new one here so that if anything goes wrong it's going to be under warrenty.

Ali

We brought everything from mobile phones land line phones tumble dryer wash machine microwave alarm clocks and all works great.
We were told that uk fridges & freezers would be fine here if they were made from a certain year onwards but i cannot remember what year that was, one it was to do with the coldness and how the fridge would stand up to the temps in oz and also the gases which would allow the fridge/freezer to be shipped and customs thingy.
Perhaps you could check it out with some shippers.
all the best

Great thanks for that. Makes life a whole lot easier if you do not have to rush and buy a load of white goods!!!
